If you’re heading out for a quick bite or just want to enjoy a relaxed, casual family meal, you don’t need to look for the nearest McDonald’s. Some of the best residential communities in Dubai offer you a fantastic dining experience with their own signature restaurants. The next time you want to make some plans for a night out with the family, you might want to consider these neighbourhood eateries.

1. Arabian Ranches 2. Dubai Hills Estate 3. Jumeirah Golf Estates
4. Victory Heights 5. Emirates Hills 6. Al Barari
7. Damac Hills 8. Jumeirah Islands

1. Arabian Ranches Restaurants

Arabian Ranches Restaurants

One of Dubai’s oldest and most well-established family communities, Arabian Ranches community is centered on the world-class Arabian Ranches Golf Club, which gives you a choice of two marvelous dining options. Ranches Restaurant features an elegant modern setting and a menu that primarily focuses on British, European and American delicacies. Alternatively, there is Maison Mathis Arabian Ranches, with its modern Belgian fare and a look that is brimming with retro charm. Both restaurants have a Saturday Roast for those indulgent weekends, and the latter provides gluten-free and vegan substitutions available on request. There is also a sports lounge where you can enjoy drinks and small bites.

The Dubai Hills Golf Club is one of the newest golfing destinations in the city and features two vibrant restaurants that present British gastronomy at its finest. Hillhouse Brasserie has a relaxed holiday vibe with its rattan chairs, wood floors and walls covered in vintage posters. The Duck Hook, named after a golf shot that most players try to avoid, makes full use of the wordplay in its name. The upscale pub decor is livened by paintings of anthropomorphic ducks and there are several duck dishes on the menu alongside some old English favorites.

Home to two championship courses designed by Greg Norman, Jumeirah Golf Estates also doubles up on the dining options available at its magnificent clubhouse. Nassau, opened last November and helmed by celebrity chef Silvena Rowe, is a star attraction. The Mediterranean-focused restaurant draws on Chef Rowe’s dual European and Arabic heritage for a unique melange of flavors. She also lends her signature touch to Al Botanica, a cafe serving healthy food that doesn’t compromise on flavour. There is, of course, the Sports Bar, designed for lovers of pub grub and some action on the playing field. And the most recent addition to the lineup is Merchant Meats, which has supplied fresh cuts to Dubai’s leading airlines and hotels for more than two decades and has opted to take a more direct path from the butchershop to the dining table.

4. Restaurants In Victory Heights

At the heart of Victory Heights is the Els Club, which overlooks a championship golf course designed by the legendary South African golfer Ernie Els (and bears his name, naturally). Recently revamped, the clubhouse also has a choice of two restaurants. The Big Easy echoes the nickname Els was given on the green (due to his imposing height and smooth swing) and reflects his personality with its laidback atmosphere and an emphasis on comfort food. Then there is 261 Restaurant, named after Els’ golf score that broke the PGA record in 2003, which serves up a variety of hearty dishes in a cool and elegant setting.

5. Restaurants In Emirates Hills

The community of Emirates Hills is ideally positioned near two well-known golf clubs, which gives its residents plenty of choice when it comes to dining. The Emirates Golf Club, the oldest golf club in Dubai, features a magnificent quartet of restaurants. Leading the pack is carine, a French Mediterranean concept by the highly renowned Chef Izu Ani who has a pedigree that includes the multiple award-winning La Petite Maison and La Serre. The Roseleaf Cafe combines casual elegance with a sweet tooth, Spike Bar is the requisite sports bar, and the club’s offerings are rounded off by an outlet of famed Australian cafe Jones the Grocer.

The Address Montgomerie, designed in partnership with Scottish golfing great Colin Montgomerie, blends golf and hospitality in one seamless package. It features signature Mediterranean restaurant Nineteen, which has recently been revamped to feature decor that truly reflects the cuisine, as well as international dining spot Monty’s (named after Colin Montgomerie) and the Monty Cristo lounge, which has a bar and games area.

Another new addition to Dubai’s golfing landscape is the Trump International Golf Club at Damac Hills, which has its own signature restaurant known as Stoke House. The restaurant has a cool modern ambience to it with a pizza oven at its centre to give it a little homespun flair. You can enjoy a range of experiences at Stoke House, from casual dining indoors to a relaxed bar with a games area, and a terrace if you’d prefer to have a meal in the open air with direct views of the golf course.

This beautiful waterfront community has its own shopping centre called Jumeirah Islands Pavilion, which contains a selection of restaurants and cafes, including some well-known chains. If you’re after a more upscale experience, you should head over to the Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse, which is home to The Glasshouse. With its stylish modern decor and a selection of pan-European dishes, The Glasshouse is perfect for family dining. The restaurant also has a large outdoor section next to the clubhouse’s infinity pool and overlooking one of the community’s picturesque lakes.
