Community Guide: Jumeirah Golf Estates

Dubai was pivotal in introducing golf to the Middle East by establishing the first grass golf course at the Emirates Golf Club in 1988. Since then, the sport's popularity in the region, especially in the city, has surged. This growth has led to the creation of golf communities like Jumeirah Golf Estates Dubai, where luxury and leisure are seamlessly combined.

World-Class Golf

Jumeirah Golf Estates is defined by its two 18-hole golf courses, named Fire and Earth and designed by champion Australian golfer Greg Norman. Each course features a distinctive aesthetic that reflects its name, with Earth using contrasts of green and brown while Fire incorporates bright golden colors. the playing experience on each is unique, with a different topographical layout to provide a distinctive challenge for players.

The Earth Course, which has a design inspired by Norman's favourite golf courses across Europe and North America, is perhaps the more well-known of the two, as it hosts the DP World Tour Championship every winter. The championship is part of the last leg of the European Tour and is a highlight of Dubai's sporting calendar, drawing in more than 65,000 spectators. It is essentially a weekend-long golf festival, complementing the action on the greens with live music, food and a variety of entertainment options. The Fire Course, which has a more desert-inspied look to it, hosts local tournaments and also features a links-style course that is ideal for seasoned players.

There are three main architectural styles that you will find in Jumeirah Golf Estates. Most of the homes take their design cue from country houses in the Tuscan countryside. Hillside and Jumeirah Luxury Living, two of the newer neighbourhoods in the community, feature a sleek contemporary aesthetic, and Al Andalus is inspired by the traditional architecture of the Spanish coastal region.

Key Facts

For the most part, homes at Jumeirah Golf Estates are sold unfurnished, though there might be the occasional resale unit that comes with furniture. You also have a few ‘shell and core’ villas and some land plots if you are looking to customise your home.

JGE is considered among the finest residential communities in Dubai and is known for its exceptional value, with a very high level of finishing and incredible amounts of space for the price you pay. It is primarily geared towards end users and especially families. However, three of the newer projects in the community - Orange Lake, Al Andalus and Jumeirah Luxury Living - are ideal for investment, with units that are very well-priced.

Connectivity

Another aspect of Jumeirah Golf Estates that residents love is how well-connected it is to the rest of the city. The community borders several major highways, including Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. With this road network, you can very easily access reputed schools such as Victory Heights Primary School, Sunmarke School and Bradenton Prep Academy.

The greenish, residential, gated golf community comprises some of the best schools, from the foundation stage all the way through to grade thirteen. All the educational spots nearby Jumeirah Golf Estates are rated "Good" or "Outstanding" by the KHDA. 

Victory Heights Primary School

Victory Heights Primary School, one of the primary schools in Dubai founded in 2013, is dedicated to providing a world-class British Curriculum that will empower students. VHPS is one of Britain's most prestigious international schools and has a fantastic record of being a part of BSME, which stands for British Schools of the Middle East, COBIS (Council of British International Schools), and BSO (British Schools Overseas).

GEMS United School

GEMS United School is located in close proximity to Jumeirah Golf Estates. The school doesn't need to have any introduction as it always has a higher ranking provided by KHDA (The Knowledge and Human Development Authority). The school offers an American curriculum for students from Pre-KG to Grade 12, led by super-qualified US educationists.

Sunmarke School

Sunmarke is a unique school that creates an immersive and engaging environment for children to explore their passions. Sunmarke School has a rating of Very Good by KHDA in Dubai, along with an "Outstanding" provided by the British School Overseas Inspection authority. Sunmarke is one of the few schools in the UAE that offers International Baccalaureate, A Level, and BTEC degrees with over 40 years of experience.

Al Botanica Cafe

Al Botanica Cafe is a new restaurant in JGE that is getting a lot of attention. The restaurant is known for its delicious fresh dining and greenery-filled interiors. The menu is filled with lots of fresh foods that are botanically themed and inspired by the owner's love of nature.

Bussola at Jumeirah Golf Estates Dubai

Bussola, located in Clubhouse Golf & Country Club at Jumeirah Golf Estates, is well-known for its Mediterranean Italian cuisine. The newly opened Bussola has a huge list of fresh foods, including delicious Italian pizza, pasta, desserts, and several other light meals. Visitors can enjoy the amazing views of the golf course as well. 

Kasturi Restaurant in JGE

Kasturi is an Indian cuisine providing a host of shared dishes with stunning views of the surroundings. A must-visit restaurant with friends and family.
