Some homes just draw you in before you even cross the threshold. Camp Jerome in Quiogue, Southampton really does that. Right from the driveway where you first catch sight of the old pines and wild grasses, this place feels like it remembers every summer from the last hundred years. You can almost imagine kids running up the lawn or someone bringing home baskets of tomatoes from the garden back in the day. The estate itself has not been offered for sale in over half a century, which honestly tells you something about how it holds onto people. The main house shows off that true country style but never feels too precious to touch. You see the dark stones on the outside and those pale sloping roofs and red brick chimneys and it just looks like it has always belonged right there. Step inside and you will notice a lot of wood along the walls and ceilings, and actually real wood. It feels solid. There are these warm, kind of rusty tiles under your feet that make you want to kick off your shoes even if you are visiting. The big drawing room is good for slowing down with a book, but sometimes you might end up hanging out in the eat-in kitchen instead since it feels like a space where people actually cook from scratch. There is a beautiful dining room too, where the light kind of sparkles off old glassware and you can imagine holiday dinners with everyone around the table. All the bedrooms are big and all have these wide windows where you wake up and it is just blue sky or golden fields outside and sometimes there are deer in the mornings. The property here is much more than just one house. There are two guesthouses tucked off the main drive, each with three bedrooms so friends or family can have their own little space when they visit. Both the main and guest houses have this calm, rustic style you will probably notice if you wander from room to room. You always feel close to nature. There is a tennis court that gets real sun in the afternoon and a fifty foot swimming pool that is set far enough from the house so it feels like its own spot. Out front you walk past the lawns on a little cobbled path down to the dock. The property is seriously bay front, with five hundred feet of waterfront so if you love boats or just sitting by the water, you will probably find yourself watching the sunset out there most evenings. One thing that surprised me is the barn. Walk through the trees behind the house and it appears a bit suddenly. It is almost two and a half storeys high and stretches out over seventy five hundred square feet. Right now it is an art gallery full of the owners' private collection but you could imagine it turning into a gym, a sport space, a studio for something big, or plenty of room for cars if you collect them. It is built from steel and has real presence among the pines. The whole estate covers sixteen acres, which in the Hamptons just does not come up every day. It is peaceful and feels private but you are only a short drive to Westhampton Beach, which has some of the best soft sand anywhere nearby. Francis S Gabreski Airport is close as well so getting in and out is actually simple, and from the driveway to New York's mainland is just about an hour and a half unless you linger at one of the little towns along the way. The coffee shop in town is the kind of spot where someone might know your name after a while. Sometimes in the evenings when the air is cool you will catch neighbors walking or kids still playing after dinner. There is really something about old homes like this one. You can tell the difference between somewhere built for comfort and time, versus just for show. If you want a historic villa with real bay front views and room for every type of life moment, this estate stands out. The only way to know if it feels right is to come see it. If you have questions or just want to walk around for a bit, reach out any time. Here at LuxuryProperty.com we just want it to be comfortable when you search for something special.

Bay front Marvelous Private Estate in Southampton, New York

There is just something about the air out here in Westhampton. It is a little lighter not just because of how close you are to the beaches but probably thanks to all that open space and green around you. This twelve bedroom villa at 7 Bayfield Lane is definitely one of the homes that makes you stop for a bit when you walk in. I remember pausing for half a second as I stepped in and just noticing the quiet and how the light was coming in from pretty much everywhere. Living here just would not feel cramped or crowded. You can always find your own spot to breathe and think even on those days when the whole family is in town and everyone is bringing friends. With almost two acres of land stretching all around you and more than enough room to wander both inside and out, it is really a bit of its own pocket of peace. I stood by one of the windows for a while and it just felt good looking at the gardens and birds. This is one of those Hamptons estates that is not trying too hard to be fancy or over the top. It is just easy and comfortable and feels solid. The home is spread out over two bright stories so there is no feeling closed in even with twelve bedrooms and eleven bathrooms. In fact, it is almost a surprise how each space opens up into the next and you are never far from a big sunny terrace or the kind of kitchen where everyone actually wants to cook and gather. The open design is smart. You can spill out straight onto the terrace for grilling outside or just taking in the big sky while someone else handles the barbecue. And the outdoor kitchen is not just a showpiece. You can actually tell that people have hung out here for whole afternoons, with the breeze and laughter almost built right in. Not all the best parts are upstairs either. The lower level feels like a whole other world with space for both playing and just relaxing. I poked around the gym and the elevator actually makes it easy to get everywhere without thinking twice. That master suite though might be the calmest place, especially with the balcony where most mornings you will want to sit with a coffee and just look at the gardens. And obviously, you have those panoramic views which honestly are even better in person than in photos. Some evenings you get that golden hour light over the lawn and it just makes everything seem a little dreamlike for a minute. It is not just the main house either. There is a guest house that is practical and private, with its own little kitchen and living room. The carriage house gives even more guest space or maybe a quiet spot for someone to work or write. Four cars fit in the extra garage there, so if you collect cars or just like company it is never a problem. Friends who love tennis will probably be first out to the all weather court which stays inviting through the seasons. And yes, the heated Gunite swimming pool with the attached spa is as tempting as it sounds. I could imagine summer here with the pool parties drifting into lazy evenings as everyone winds down together. What stands out to me most is that this place is peaceful but not isolated. Beaches and the little village cafes are just a quick drive. You hear laughter from nearby gardens sometimes but everyone's got their own space and privacy. Kids still ride bikes down these streets at sunset and honestly you might find yourself actually not checking your phone as much. The only way you will know if 7 Bayfield Lane feels right is to come by and see it for yourself. If you want to ask anything or maybe just walk around together, please reach out anytime. At LuxuryProperty.com we believe moving should feel comfortable and real, not stressful.
