Some homes just make you pause a little before you even step all the way inside. This five bedroom villa on Crest Street in Beverly Hills is exactly like that. The first time I walked up the quiet cul de sac and looked out over the Hollywood Hills then out to the ocean I just thought wow you can really breathe here. Even if you know LA pretty well this little pocket feels private in a way you do not find that often. It just sits above it all. You kind of get the sense you are tucked away but the city is always just there if you want it. If you are looking for a villa in Beverly Hills that gives you both privacy and space without that usual boxed in feeling this place is a real surprise. The area somehow feels both part of the city and escaped from it. When you walk through the entry the light sort of follows you in. It is because of all the glass walls but it is never too much or too bright. Even on sunny California days it just works. The rooms flow easily into each other so if you are hosting or just hanging out with family it never feels cramped. I noticed the walnut floors first. They just feel warmer than most houses especially if you are barefoot which honestly is pretty nice after a long day. The hardware is by Hansgrohe and Duravit and that is something you do not see everywhere. It says a lot about the level of care that went into picking out the small things. The white gallery walls make art pop but do not make the home feel cold at all. The light fixtures almost feel like sculptures but not in an over the top way. Even the shades are smart so you can set the vibe with one quick press. It feels smart but not fussy. The kitchen is made for real cooking and gatherings. If you like to have friends over or even just enjoy a quiet dinner it is the kind of space that does not feel like it is just for show. You have everything you need to cook for a crowd or just lay out brunch on a lazy Sunday. The room opens right up to a massive balcony and I can tell you the view out over the hills is something you just do not get used to. I stood at the balcony one evening and just watched as the colors changed over Los Angeles and it made me want to stay out there all day. Honestly having that much outdoor space right off the kitchen makes life easier. You eat inside then just end up outside without feeling like you have to move anywhere else. Sometimes you catch an ocean breeze in the evenings which is not something you get everywhere in Beverly Hills. Bedrooms are all peaceful but not overly formal. The master suite especially feels like a treat. Two big custom fitted wardrobes mean there is a spot for everything no matter how much stuff you have. There is a private balcony too. Some mornings you will just want to grab a coffee and sit out there before you get going. The ensuite is done by Roberto Cavalli double showers and all. It is a bit of luxury that you actually get to use every day which is nice. Almost like a spa but honestly not too perfect or intimidating. Outside you find spaces that matter just as much as the inside. The pool and spa are really private so you can relax or have friends over and not feel looked at. The steps down lead to a big hardscaped spot that you could turn into a deck for parties or even get a little sporty if you want a private basketball hoop. The good thing is you already have permits sorted if you want to put a new pool or make it fit your own plans. You could picture kids running around or quiet afternoons reading on the lawn or by the pool. Birds in the evening honestly make you forget you are so close to Sunset Boulevard. You get all this quiet but you are also so close to restaurants shopping and everything that makes LA exciting. Sunset Boulevard is right there when you want it just a drive with the windows down or a night out at one of the local hotspots. In a way it feels like the best of both city and private living. I know it is hard to really tell from pictures or words how a place feels. The only way is to walk through at your own pace and see what you notice.
