2 Bedroom Chic Apartment in Cannes Californie, French Riviera

There is something about the hills of Cannes that just makes you stop and breathe a little slower and maybe even let your shoulders drop. This apartment in the Californie neighbourhood is one of those places where things just feel a little softer and you find yourself pausing by the window without really meaning to. It is a two bedroom apartment set just above Cannes itself and when I first came in I found myself heading straight for the terrace. The view is just kind of unbelievable. You get the sweep of the Mediterranean and then there are mountains in the distance and a whole lot of sky. It felt like the sort of place where you could sit every morning with your coffee and not really need anything else for a while. Birds fly past below you and sometimes you hear the distant sound of life down in the city... but mostly it is just green and blue and light.

This home is on the first floor which already feels more private with all the trees outside and the little bit of hill between you and the rest of the world. The residence is in one of those corners of the French Riviera that really feels tucked away and honestly just calm. The moment you step inside you see how the owners have taken the time to renovate it in a way that is not just stylish but actually warm and inviting. I noticed a bunch of small touches – soft lighting, real fabrics, the kind of sleek furniture that makes you look twice but still feels soft when you sit. Even the art feels like it belongs here. Sometimes apartments can look good in pictures but then feel cold in person. This just does not do that. It is more like a boutique hotel where you immediately want to stay for a really long time. If you end up loving the look you can even keep the furniture and accessories because they are all available with the sale.

Walking through you get this huge open living and dining space that does not try too hard. The light from those terrace doors comes in from morning to night so it always feels kind of fresh and never stuffy. The kitchen is separate but right where you want it to be so if you like to cook or honestly even just want to sneak a snack when people are over it feels easy. I have seen some kitchens where you just know nobody is going to cook. Here though you could probably make a mess and then open up the windows and let the sea air sort things out. When I was there I just wanted to wander back and forth between the kitchen and the terrace. The master suite is one of my favourite rooms actually. There is an en suite bathroom and a small dressing room and then this real sense of privacy. You can wake up to those same views I was talking about and honestly there are mornings you will just want to stay put. The second bedroom, also with its own bathroom, makes having guests feel relaxed. Everybody gets their own space and you do not end up stepping over each other or hearing every word at night.

You also get a bit of extra practicality with a garage and a separate storage room right in the building so it is easier to keep things uncluttered. As for amenities there is this really lovely outdoor pool only for residents and their guests. When I walked through the gardens people were strolling, some reading by the pool, and a couple of kids riding bikes on the quieter drive. Even though you are only about ten minutes from the heart of Cannes and all those designer shops and restaurants down by the Croisette it always feels like you are outside the rush.

The Californie area is well known by locals for its atmosphere. If you ask someone here about the neighbourhood they will tell you about the little parks you do not always find on the map or the mornings when the baker delivers just up the street. The French Riviera is famous for good reason and honestly if you want a spot that delivers day to day luxury in a calm and private spot this is it.
