Some places kind of pull you in before you even know why. This Furnished 2-bedroom apartment for rent at Downtown Views II in Downtown Dubai does that for me. I got the impression right off the lift actually, because the view already peeks at you through the hallway windows. Up here it just feels light and open. Maybe it is the tall windows. Maybe it is the city skyline spread right in front of you. You cannot really miss it. The living area is this bright spot where natural light comes in from both sides and I actually found myself just leaning against the glass for a while watching traffic fade into the distance and those tall buildings lighting up piece by piece as the sun fell. 

You will notice this is a proper home kind of space and not just somewhere you drop your stuff before heading out. The open plan kitchen, tucked into one end, feels like you might really cook a good meal here. It is not too showy but everything sits where you expect. I checked under the counters and the appliances are all integrated. There is a spot that would fit a coffee machine too which I always like. The bedrooms are set away from the living space so you have a little privacy. Sometimes you just want to retreat and close the door. Both bedrooms are actually quite big for what you get downtown these days. Built in wardrobes mean there are no clunky extra cupboards you have to work around. Big soft windows let in morning light and honestly you will have a tough time getting out of bed on weekends. 

Bathrooms feel clean and modern. You can tell this place is upgraded because the fixtures do not look the same as some of the other units. It feels fresh. There is also something to be said about the en suite setup. It is a small touch but it matters on those busy days when you are just after a quick shower and out the door. The air conditioning is central and chiller free which you will appreciate by the time summer comes around. I like that you get covered parking in this building too. Elevator is quick never really a wait and the whole place feels secure. 

What you will probably notice most is the balcony. I almost missed it at first. Step out there and it is just you and the city. You can see quite a bit from up here. On a clear day you catch the Burj Khalifa right in your line of sight and night time it is a different world altogether with all those lights laid out under you. If you like a bit of fresh air with your morning coffee or you just want a quiet spot to call family back home it is honestly an easy little escape from it all. 

Downtown Dubai is pretty lively but when you are up here it goes quiet and peaceful. Downstairs you have almost everything. A little grocery store by the entrance sells fresh bread in the mornings and some afternoons you hear music from the cafes around. It is close to Dubai Mall just a quick drive and walking to the fountains is totally doable if you are feeling like some air. There is a gym and pool in the building with views that make working out actually enjoyable and some days you can see kids splashing in the early evenings. Laundry pickup comes right to the lobby as well which I think will make life simple. 

Truth is some homes feel flashy but this one just feels settled the sort of place where you flip off your shoes and forget about your phone for an hour or two.
