Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk

Written by Sepehr Heidari

As the world’s largest man-made archipelago, Palm Jumeirah is a truly magnificent beachfront destination and houses some of the most luxurious high-end resorts, restaurants, and other properties. While there is plenty to do around the sweeping crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the newest attraction is in the form of a walkway. The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk, built over the rocks of the palm breakwater, is a truly beautiful project, and one of the must-visit areas in Dubai to really complete the Palm Jumeirah experience.

The Boardwalk is 6 meters wide and stretches along the coast for 11 kilometers, from the Rixos Palm Jumeirah Hotel on the Crescent’s east side to the One & Only The Palm on the west side of the crescent - essentially, it spans the outer perimeter of the entire crescent, framing the Palm’s outer perimeter. While on the Boardwalk, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Arabian Gulf and Palm shoreline, as well as the stunning Dubai skyline. Moreover, the Boardwalk features several dining options in the form of food trucks and souvenir stands where tourists and residents alike can purchase handcrafted knick-knacks and ornamental items. Nakheel, the developer behind the Palm islands, is looking to expand the Boardwalk and in the near future, the Boardwalk will feature high-end retail promenades, piers on the East and West sides that will each extend 100 meters into the sea, and glass-encased cafes and restaurants that will allow visitors to further enjoy the beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline.

As you make your way across the Boardwalk, in addition to the beautiful views and scenery, you will have access to over 20 food trucks. You will have options from traditional British fish and chips to falafel, from freshly prepared pasta to gourmet shawarma, with even more options coming over time. The Boardwalk is accessible from 37 different gates, with over 350 free parking spaces located all around the area. Valet parking is also available to smoothen out the parking process and further enhance the experience. Additionally, the Palm Monorail passes through the area with a stop at the Atlantis Resort, providing a seamless bridge from one to the other for hotel guests and other residents of the city.

Palm Jumeirah is already one of the most exciting lifestyle destinations in Dubai, with dynamic attractions including the Aquaventure water park, The Lost Chambers aquarium, and the Atlantis Dolphin Park, to name but a few. The Boardwalk adds even more leisure options that take advantage of the perfect oceanfront location. You can indulge in the various activities on offer throughout the year or simply go for a long walk by the beach, enjoying the seaside air and the sand under your feet. The Boardwalk has been designated for pedestrians only, so you can stroll in peace without worrying about cyclists or skateboarders whizzing past.
