Mall of The Emirates, known as the world’s first shopping resort, has long been providing Dubai’s residents with extravagant and lavish shopping experiences. Home to over 600 brands, Mall of the Emirates, commonly know to Dubai’s residents as ‘MOE’, offers a wide range of retail options. Some of the most renowned luxury brands have their stores set up across the 2.4 million square foot space, along with gourmet restaurants covering a variety of cuisines. If you are looking to add to your wardrobe or simply want to spend an afternoon store-hopping, then have a read through our guide to Mall of the Emirates.
Fashion Dome and Luxury Wing
Mall of the Emirates’ designated ‘Fashion Dome’, topped by a beautiful cathedral-like dome,, and Luxury Wing are home to over 80 of the world’s most popular luxury brands. Iconic Italian fashion house Prada has one of its largest international outposts in this mall. This store, with Prada’s signature checkerboard marble floors, offers some of the finest fashion, luggage, and accessory products in the world. From Balenciaga to Valentino, Mall of the Emirates really has it all when it comes to fashion. For jewelry enthusiasts, Bvlgari, Cartier, and Tiffany and Co are just some of the names you can shop at. If you’re looking for a sharp new suit for work, head over to the Burberry or Hugo Boss store. For a new watch, check out world-renowned watchmakers such as Patek Phillipe. Also boasting brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Saint Laurent, Mall of The Emirates’ affinity for high-end shopping is unquestionable.
‘Home Centre’, a local favorite, is a true household name when it comes to furniture and house shopping. Another option is ‘The One’, where people can shop for trendy and contemporary home décor. Other top-tier brands include ‘Crate & Barrel’ and ‘Villeroy & Boch’, which offer exclusive houseware designs and the finest crockery. And there is no shortage of smaller boutique stores, each selling unique items that would add an extra dose of character to any home.
Activewear, Equipment, and Sports
Leading sports brands Adidas and Nike offer the best of the best when it comes to sports, sneakers, and activewear. The Mall of Emirates is also home to an ‘Adidas Originals’ store, where fashion-forward folks can shop for streetwear and trendy sneakers. World-renowned Lululemon, located on Level 2, offers upscale athletic clothing and lifestyle apparel. Other multi-brand stores like ‘Go Sport’ and ‘Modell’s’ are great places to shop for sports equipment, fitness apparel, and accessories.
Mall of the Emirates is home to several top-tier brands when it comes to electronics and technology shopping. The Apple store in Mall of the Emirates was Apple’s first retail store in the Middle East. Here, shoppers can enjoy the very best in smartphones, laptops, and accessories. If you are more of an Android kind of guy, look no further than the Samsung store or other well-known stores such as Jumbo Electronics, the official retailer of Sony products in the UAE.
Walking the expanse of this immense shopping center can build up quite the appetite. Fortunately, Mall of the Emirates has something to satisfy all tastes. From well-known coffee shop chains including Starbucks and Tim Horton’s to more upscale dining options such as South American steakhouse Texas de Brazil and fine dining Chinese restaurant Miu Shanghai. You can drop in for breakfast at homegrown specialty coffee shop Common Grounds or indulge your sweet tooth at The Cheesecake Factory. If dinner and a movie is what you’re after, then you can head to Vox Cinemas, one of the most popular multiplexes in the region. Vox at Mall of the Emirates offers a viewing experience known as ‘Theatre by Rhodes’, where you can enjoy the latest blockbusters in a VIP screening room with comfortable recliners, enjoying at-your-seat service and a three-course menu conceptualized by Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes.
Aside from the cinema, perhaps the biggest attraction at Mall of the Emirates is Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort. Ski Dubai has five slopes of varying difficulty, including the world’s first indoor black run (the most difficult type of slope). Veteran skiers can head straight for the slopes while beginners have the benefit of certified professional ski instructors. The facility contains a pro shop for clothing and equipment, and has its own ski lodge and cafe.
