King's College Hospital in Dubai Hills

5 October 2023 Written by Staff Writer

Dubai Hills Estate has been designed as a truly exceptional community in Dubai, offering not just the finest homes but the very best lifestyle options and amenities. Toward the end of 2018, we saw the opening of Dubai Hills Golf Course, the latest addition to Dubai’s stellar lineup of championship courses. In less than two months, we will see the opening of Dubai Hills Park, which will exceed the city’s most famous parks - Safa Park and Zabeel Park - in size. One of the most significant parts of Dubai Hills will be its world-class healthcare facilities, chief among them being King’s College Hospital, which officially opened its doors in January of this year.

The 100-bed facility at the heart of Dubai Hills is one of the most technologically sophisticated hospitals in the city and is directly linked to London’s world-renowned King’s College medical institution. The hospital has direct access to King’s research centres in the UK, thus ensuring that the highest levels of patient care are provided, and that patient transfers between Dubai and the UK are seamless.

The hospital also has a Visiting Faculty program in place, through which the UK’s leading clinicians and specialists will be visiting Dubai on a regular basis. This in turn will allow for highly specialised and complex procedures to be performed in Dubai, where previously an overseas trip would have been required.

King’s College Hospital UAE consists of our recently opened Dubai Medical Centres in Marina and Jumeirah, with our newly opened state-of-the-art 100-bed facility at Dubai Hills in Mohammed bin Rashid City. As part of King’s College Hospital (KCH), we are able to offer our patients local access to world-class treatment and leading medical professionals. Around one third of our clinical staff, including all heads of department, have been recruited from the UK including King’s College Hospital, a trusted British teaching hospital, and its partner hospitals in the UK. The majority of our doctors have been educated and trained in Britain and have many years of experience working in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). King’s College Hospital Dubai has been established to provide for the healthcare needs of the whole family and, whether your medical problem is simple or complex, our clinics can deliver the finest levels of healthcare including consultations, diagnostic tests, treatments and recovery support. If required, we can also arrange for you to be referred for additional specialist treatment at our UK centre, King’s College Hospital.

As one of London’s most well-reputed teaching hospitals, King’s College has a history of more than 175 years and is fully committed to providing the best medical care. The UAE has a strong relationship with King’s College that goes back almost four decades, and the institution has established itself in the country with three medical centres. There is the original centre in Jumeirah, a newer Dubai Marina facility that was opened in September 2018, and a medical & surgery centre in Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Hills facility is the first full-fledged King’s College Hospital in the UAE, and plans are already underway to expand the hospital in 2020 with the addition of 100 further beds.

King’s College Hospital is an incredible step forward in Dubai’s aim toward becoming a fully smart city and is also a stunning realisation of the city’s continued efforts in maximising the well-being of its residents.
