Dubailand is the most central district of Dubai, stretching across an immense 3 billion square feet in the heart of the city. The area was designed to be Dubai's entertainment hub and is divided between a vibrant mix of vast residential communities and popular leisure attractions. It is best known as the site of the annual Global Village fair and the recently opened IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park.
Without a doubt the largest district in Dubai, Dubailand is home to a staggering number of residential projects. Well-known communities such as Al Barari and Arabian Ranches fall within the district, as does the upcoming mega-project of Mohammed Bin Rashid City. Other developments include Mudon, The Villa, Town Square, Tilal Al Ghaf and Arabian Ranches II.
Owing to its position in the city, Dubailand is bordered by major highways and provides excellent connectivity to many other key areas such as Downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Marina. It also allows for easy passage to Dubai International Airport and Maktoum International Airport.
Dubailand is home to a large variety of leisure attractions, from theme parks to tranquil gardens. It is one of the ultimate family destinations, offering something that will keep everyone entranced.
The varied communities within Dubailand cater to every possible lifestyle. Golf lovers can head to Arabian Ranches or Dubai Hills Estate, each of which has a championship golf course at its heart. If you would prefer to live by the water, you can go to District One or Tilal Al Ghaf, both centred on man-made lagoons and containing private beaches. Al Barari offers complete tranquility in a private green enclave with a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmentalism. And of course, the entertainment complexes scattered around Dubailand are popular attractions for individuals and families alike.
Running from October/November till about mid-April, this annual event is one of Dubai's most popular cultural attractions. With themed pavilions, carnival rides, an array of international cuisines and handcrafted artisan products, it is a great place to visit with the whole family and a unique representation of the cultural melting pot that is Dubai.
One of Dubai's newest theme parks, IMG Worlds of Adventure is spread across 1.5 million square feet and divided into five different zones. You can enjoy touring a dinosaur park or go on rides themed after beloved pop culture icons and famous films. The park is also the venue for live shows and contains a great selection of dining options as well.
Dubai's much-anticipated 'city within a city' project, MBR City (as it is commonly known) is a collection of high-end neighbourhoods and developments covering an expanse of 54 million square feet. Dubai Hills Estate, District One and Sobha Hartland are but a few of the most popular projects. Within the mega development, one can find the Dubai Hills Golf Course, the beautiful Crystal Lagoon, Dubai Hills Mall, Meydan One Mall and the world's longest indoor ski slope (once completed).
This sport-themed community is home to a motorsport circuit known as the Dubai Autodrome, the Dubai Cricket Stadium and several prominent sports academies. Adjoining it is the gated neighbourhood of Victory Heights, which overlooks a championship golf course designed by veteran golfer Ernie Els.
As Dubailand contains several family-oriented communities such as Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills and Sobha Hartland, there are quite a few educational and healthcare institutions scattered throughout the district. Most notable are Jumeirah English Speaking School, Hartland International School and King's College Hospital.
A botanical treasure in the heart of Dubai, Miracle Garden showcases more than 50 million flowers blooming across uniquely designed structures and art piece. Spread across more than 770,000 sq ft, the garden is meticulously cared for by a team of groundskeepers and boasts the Guiness World Record for the world's largest flower arrangement.
