About Meydan
Constructing Dubai’s Future
The vision for Meydan Group began with a single idea – the Meydan Racecourse, famous the world over for hosting the Dubai World Cup, the world’s most expensive horse race. Meydan is a landmark and an institution in the city, and was conceptualised by Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Today, Meydan has evolved into much more than a sports venue. It is one of the integral components of Dubai’s future as a luxury destination. Sport is still a key part of Meydan’s portfolio, with projects such as the Meydan Tennis Academy, Dubai Equestrian Club, The Track Meydan Golf and Emirates Equestrian Centre. Other famous projects include the Meydan Hotel and the Bab Al Shams Resort, the latter of which is a popular staycation spot for residents.
Meydan is also extensively involved in the development of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, the ‘city within a city’ mega project that forms the new heart of Dubai. District One, the premier residential community within the project, is a joint collaboration between Meydan and fellow developer Sobha. Its solo offering is District Elven, a collection of over 2,000 villas, some of which will be dedicated housing for Emirates Airlines pilots. Meydan is also developing Kent College Canterbury, a British curriculum school that will have a focus on equestrian training.
