1 bedroom apartment in The Crescent, Palm Jumeirah

I remember the first time I walked into this one bedroom apartment at Sofitel Hotel Residences on Palm Jumeirah's Eastern Crescent. Honestly you just get that calm hotel feeling as soon as you step inside. I caught myself slowing down in the hallway and just letting the light wash over me from those huge windows. You see a lot of apartments but not a lot that feel this open and peaceful the minute you walk in.

This place is fully furnished so you do not need to bring much more than your suitcase. The living area is wide and open and actually works as a spot to just hang out or invite a few friends over when you feel like it. The sofa felt pretty comfy when I tried it and if you are like me and enjoy an evening curled up with a good series or a cup of coffee you will like the setup. The kitchen is right there but does not crowd the space. It has a vibe you will want to actually cook in or at least try some new recipes once in a while. All the appliances are in place so it just feels easy and sort of inviting in a homey way. There is even space on the counter for your morning coffee if you do not like to rush out.

Moving to the bedroom you will notice it is not squeezed in like some places. The truth is you get lots of built in storage so you really can tuck everything away. I looked in the wardrobe and there is more room than you might expect. The bed looks right out to more windows and in the mornings you can feel the sun come in which, I will admit, is a pretty great way to wake up. It does not really feel like you are in a hotel or in the city. Feels more chilled than that.

Bathrooms are done up in a proper hotel style with good touches like solid counters and proper space to get ready at your own pace. You will also notice the water pressure is good and the fixtures are the type you actually want to use. Sometimes it is the little things that make life easier.

Some days all you want is a swim or somewhere to clear your head and you get that here. There is a pool downstairs that always feels tempting around sunset. The gym is right nearby so if you like to work out early or keep it quick before work it is right there. If you are into the beach you will also love that you get private beach access so you can wander down without making it a big thing. There is a certain quiet on this side of the Palm Jumeirah which can honestly be a relief after a long day.

One thing I found is how handy the Eastern Crescent location really is. You glide on and off the Crescent pretty easily so traffic is less of a headache. If you like little walks or evening strolls the Palm Boardwalk is close too and you will sometimes see families or cyclists out just catching the breeze. And if you cannot start your day without a coffee the Sofitel has their cafe downstairs which helps on weekdays when you are running out the door. Other restaurants and small shops are just a couple of minutes away as well so you do not feel cut off from anything.

The whole apartment just invites you to slow down. Maybe it is the way the rooms connect or how the light moves around through the day. Furnished rentals on Palm Jumeirah usually do not feel this put together in my opinion. Whether you need a spot to work from home or just a base for city and beach living this place gives you some of both. You might even forget your phone when you open the curtains and see the water nearby.
