Some homes just let you breathe a little easier as soon as you walk in. This three bedroom apartment in Bluewaters Residences feels just like that, right from the start. I remember stopping by the living room window and just watching the water for a while. You get this wide open view of the Arabian Sea that changes with the light and the season and it really never gets old. The floor to ceiling windows make the whole place stay bright all day. Sometimes it feels like you are floating just above the water.
The apartment itself spreads out over two thousand square feet and honestly you can feel the space as you move around. The living area just opens up in a way that makes it easy to relax with friends or just hang out quietly. There is this modern open kitchen and you can tell someone actually thought about how it fits into the room. It is not just there to look good or fill up space. If you like the idea of cooking a proper meal or just chatting with people while you wait for your coffee to brew, this setup really works. There is also a pretty big balcony out here and when the breeze comes in off the sea you might just want to stay out there a bit longer than planned. Bluewaters actually gets a bit of that fresh air smell from the water too, not every Dubai spot does.
You will notice every bedroom has its own bathroom which I think just makes mornings feel less rushed. I have seen apartments try to squeeze in storage but here you really will not run out of space for clothes or bags or even just a few things you have not had the time to sort. The guest bathroom is tucked in near the entrance and the utility room is out of the way, but still easy to use when laundry day comes around. There is a separate study as well which for some people is huge, whether you work from home or just want a place to keep things a little organized. With the apartment being unfurnished you really get to bring your own feel. You can let the rooms grow into whatever you want. Some folks like a real minimalist style and others fill the place with color and books and plants. Honestly, both ways would just work here.
Living on Bluewaters Island is something special. Sometimes you walk outside in the evenings and you see families with strollers along the boardwalk and there is always something going on but it does not feel crowded or noisy. The Marina skyline is right there, just a short drive if you ever want it, but you are just across the water from JBR too which makes weekend plans easy. The food scene on Bluewaters is pretty great, too. If you do not feel like cooking, spots like Alici for a long seafood lunch or Scarlet's German Bakery for a quick coffee and pastry are all within walking distance. Hell's Kitchen is actually right there and even if you do not go in, you get a kick out of seeing it up close after it has been on TV so much.
You might forget how central this spot is because it just feels a little quieter than the rest of the city. One of my favourite things is just how much light this apartment gets. When you are sitting in the living room, you almost forget there is a whole city behind you. You look out across the water and it just calms you down. Sometimes it does not even feel like Dubai. Kids can bike along the water's edge and you are never far from a coffee shop or a place to just sit and watch the world without any rush.
Anyway, you kind of have to see this place for yourself. Sometimes you know as soon as you walk in if it is the right one.
