We are delighted to take you on a little tour of Dubai Marina, a place that feels just as much like a lifestyle as it does a location. Over the years it’s grown into one of the city’s most recognisable neighbourhoods, with its waterfront walkways, sparkling skyline, and that laid-back energy you start to feel as soon as you’re here.

Living in the Marina
You’ve got over 200 residential towers here, which is honestly quite something when you think about it. And together, they hold upwards of 120,000 apartments. That means there’s pretty much something for everyone. You’ll find studio flats with marina views, sprawling penthouses with private pools, and everything in between. Some buildings are older but incredibly spacious, others are brand new with luxury finishes and hotel-style amenities. And the variety of views is part of the charm. There are places that look directly onto the marina and others that face the sea, the skyline or even the desert in the distance.
Most buildings sit directly along the water or just behind it. That means wherever you are, you’re never more than a few minutes’ walk from the promenade. And if the beach is on your wishlist, you’ll be glad to know it’s just across the bridge. You can actually walk there. From the heart of the Marina to the beach at JBR it’s maybe ten to fifteen minutes on foot, depending on where you start. Or just hop in a taxi and you’re there in three.
Schools nearby
If you’ve got little ones or planning to, there are quite a few strong school options within a short drive. Dubai British School in Emirates Hills is a favourite, about fifteen minutes away. Dubai International Academy and Regent International are nearby as well, especially if you live at the Marina’s northern end. Younger children might do well at Emirates International Nursery in The Greens. It’s cosy and community-led and very easy to reach.
Doctors, dentists and hospitals
The Marina is well-covered when it comes to healthcare. Marina Medical Center is right on Marina Walk and ideal for general needs. Emirates Hospitals Clinics is another solid option, especially if you’re looking for something more specialised. Saudi German Hospital is close by in Al Barsha and has pretty much everything under one roof. As for dentists, there are plenty within walking distance. Micris Dental and Marina Medical Center both come highly recommended. And pharmacies? They’re absolutely everywhere. You’ll find them in tower lobbies, malls and street corners. Always open, always helpful.

Shops and malls
Dubai Marina Mall is the neighbourhood’s go-to spot. It’s compact but well stocked, with a Waitrose, a cinema, fashion stores like H\&M and Massimo Dutti, some salons, and casual restaurants. It also connects directly to the waterfront. If you want something more expansive, Mall of the Emirates is a 10 to 15 minute drive away and has everything from luxury brands to Ski Dubai. And Bluewaters Island has been growing as a shopping and dining destination too. It’s easy to get to, especially from the northern end of the Marina.
For groceries and everyday bits, Waitrose in Marina Mall is super convenient. You’ve also got Spinneys in The Springs, Choithrams in JLT, and a bunch of 24-hour mini marts in the buildings themselves. Most people use delivery, but it’s great having walkable options too.

Cafés, restaurants and nightlife
This is one of the reasons people fall in love with the area. There’s always somewhere new to eat or grab coffee. Pier 7 is a favourite, with seven restaurants stacked one above the other. It’s hard to beat the views from there. Marina Walk has staples like PF Chang’s, Carluccio’s, and Café Bateel. But there are also quiet spots tucked away between towers. Wagamama and Shakespeare and Co are great for casual dinners. And The Coffee Club and Starbucks are good for catch-ups or work-from-café mornings. A lot of places are pet-friendly too.
Getting around
One thing that surprises people is just how walkable the Marina is. The promenade loops around the water and makes for one of the nicest walks in the city. The tram runs through the community and connects to the Metro, which makes commuting easy. You can also use the water taxis or ferry for something a bit different. Most buildings have decent parking, though it can get a bit tight in older towers. Ride-hailing apps are quick and reliable here.

Facilities and extras
You’ll notice almost every building has its own gym and pool. Some even have squash courts, games rooms or spas. For fitness lovers, there are personal trainers, CrossFit boxes, yoga and pilates studios all within the neighbourhood. Hair salons, nail bars, massage places, laundry services, tailors, pet grooming spots — it’s all here. And there are great options for families with kids too, from indoor play areas to music classes and kids clubs in neighbouring communities.
A few closing thoughts
Dubai Marina is one of those places that feels like a destination but lives like a neighbourhood. You can dress up for a night out or wear flip-flops to breakfast. It’s sociable but not overwhelming. You can keep to yourself or join in. And with over 200 towers and so many different layouts, views and price points, there’s always something interesting coming onto the market.
