The highly ambitious master community of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City is starting to blossom in the heart of Dubai. The first phase of handover has already begun, signaling a new era in the city’s history. We have already looked at Dubai Hills Estate, one of the key communities of MBR City. Now we examine the flagship development of the mega project, District One, spanning 26 million square feet of richly landscaped space and featuring a stunning collection of sprawling villas, premium mansions and contemporary waterfront apartments.

Finest Homes

These homes truly are second to none, set in a charming suburban neighborhood with tree-lined roads and a sense of community that can sometimes be hard to find in the city. Chief among them are the mansions, immense seven and eight-bedroom homes that are available in three distinct architectural styles. Comprising only 18 such properties, these really are among the most exclusive homes in Dubai. The villas, ranging from four to six-bedrooms, are no less impressive in their size and scope of design. Like the mansions, they are available in three architectural styles – Modern Arabic, Contemporary and Mediterranean. To really get a sense of life in District One, we recommend taking a look at this beautiful five-bedroom villa. District One is also home to an exclusive collection of waterfront apartments known as The Residences, which are located around the magnificent Crystal Lagoon.

One of the major highlights of the community is the fact that it is low-density, meaning that the various residences are sufficiently spaced out to allow for complete privacy. This also provides ample yard room to set up a garden or outdoor recreational space.

Unique Waterfront Living

The Crystal Lagoon is the focal point of this community. The largest man-made water body in the world, the lagoon is filled with clear blue waters and is ringed by a 7km coastline that includes a boardwalk and a pristine beach. It should perhaps come as no surprise that a beach in the very centre of the city would exist in a city like Dubai. There are areas of the lagoon dedicated for swimmers, and you can also enjoy activities such as jet skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Over the past decade, The Dubai Mall has reigned supreme in Dubai’s retail landscape as one of the world’s largest malls, but it is expected to be outdone by Meydan One, which will also be breaking several records with its size and scope. Aside from over 600 retail stores, the mall will include an area known as The Heritage Village, a space designed almost as an open-air museum, representing UAE’s past with traditionally designed buildings and specially recreated landscaping.

Meydan One will also have the world’s longest indoor ski slope at 1 km in length, indoor sports facilities, a water park, the world’s largest dancing fountain and Residential One, which will be the tallest residential tower in the world.

The New Heart of Luxury

Mohammed Bin Rashid City will redefine Dubai’s landscape, both literally and in terms of the lifestyle options it presents. Greenery will be in abundance, with each home designed to harmonize with nature. District One will be leading the charge in this gradual shift from a purely urban city to one that balances out its skyscrapers with suburban residential developments and a more community-focused living experience.

Sitting in one of the most central locations in Dubai, it will enjoy easy access to the older and newer parts of the city. Downtown Dubai is located a short drive away, and the gleaming Burj Khalifa is visible from the balcony of every mansion. The ever-popular Meydan Racecourse is also in proximity, as is the Dubai International Airport.
