The View at the Palm - A Breathtaking Experience

5 October 2023 Written by Arpan

In 2024, the Palm Jumeirah celebrated its 15th anniversary and, like every teenager, continues to grow and mature each day. This man-made island (or archipelago, to be precise) was once considered an impossible dream, more fitting for a science fiction novel than reality. Yet, defying the odds, construction on the massive 61.6 million square foot project began in 2001 as Dubai entered the new millennium, with the first homes on the island handed over five years later. Today, residents and visitors alike can enjoy the view at the Palm, a testament to human ingenuity and ambition.

1. Unending Panoramas

Officially known as The View at the Palm, which began welcoming visitors from the 7th of April. A glass-domed structure sitting at a height of 240 metres, The View truly does live up to its name, looking out over a 360-degree panorama that is nothing short of breathtaking. Along one side, you have a full view of the Palm itself, stretching all the way back to the mainland and flowing back towards Burj Al Arab. Let your gaze wander further and you will see Downtown Dubai in the far distance, with the piercing spire of the Burj Khalifa towering over everything else.

2. Awe-Inspiring

The entrance, situated on the second floor, includes an aquarium, a gift shop, and a Starbucks—ideal for a caffeine boost before you head up or to calm your heartbeat after you come down.

Here, you can learn about how this iconic landmass was conceptualized, constructed, and transformed into a stunning reality. A timeline displays the development of the Palm up to the present day, illustrating not only the island's growth but also that of the entire city. Group tours are available, including school tours that begin with the Exhibition and progress from there. This destination is among the top tourist attractions in Dubai.

An elevator fitted with interactive screens takes you up to the 52nd floor in just 45 seconds, which is a jaw-dropping experience in itself as you rise rapidly above the island, and the entirety of its panoramas open up in front of you.

3. Memorable Experiences

At its core is a private glass-walled lounge spanning nearly 1,300 sq ft, equivalent to the size of a two-bedroom apartment. This lounge can be reserved for private events, featuring a selection of beverages, gourmet catering options, high-quality audio and video equipment, and wireless internet. Whether you're hosting a grand celebration or a more intimate gathering, the stunning views on all sides will elevate your event to a whole new level. Looking for a unique venue to propose to your significant other? The View offers a special proposal package that can be customized to be as simple or as lavish as you desire. Don't forget to capture the moment with the view at the Palm photos, ensuring your special occasion is unforgettable.

On Tuesday and Friday mornings, The View hosts yoga sessions from 7am to 8am. There is no better way to start your day and feel at peace with the world than to take in a few deep breaths as you watch the sun slowly bathe the city in its warm glow.

4. Palm Tower - What's Next?

A month after the opening of The View, St. Regis the Palm welcomed its first guests. This newest addition to the five-star St. Regis brand occupies the lower 18 floors of the tower and offers fantastic lifestyle amenities. You can pamper yourself at the Iridium Spa, relax by one of the two infinity pools while enjoying a drink from the pool bar, or savor a gourmet meal at the seafood-focused signature restaurant, Cordelia. The hotel also honors Caroline Astor (mother of St. Regis founder John Jacob Astor IV) with Her by Astor, a ladies-only venue offering a modern, locally inspired take on her elegant afternoon tea ritual.

Additionally, Aura Skypool Lounge and SUSHISAMBA are set to open this year. We can also expect the first residences to be handed over by the time Expo 2020 begins in October. Be sure to get the view at the Palm tickets to experience all these attractions firsthand.

The Palm Tower provides yet another reason to be in awe of the record-breaking island, and only goes to show that some places get better with age.
