The 8, The Crescent, Palm Jumeirah
Some places just have this gentle way of bringing your shoulders down the moment you come in. This two bedroom apartment up on a high floor at The 8 on Palm Jumeirah really does that. I walked in and the first thing I wanted to do was head straight for the windows. You get this wow moment with the sea just stretching out in front of you. It almost feels like you could let the city slip away and just listen to the water for a bit. Honestly that view never really gets old whether it is morning sun coming through or later when everything is calm and quiet.
You can tell right away the way the living and dining spaces are laid out here is just easy. People say open plan but in this place that really means you can be making coffee or talking with friends on the sofa and nothing feels boxed in. The balcony is where I kept finding myself. There is a soft breeze up here and sometimes you spot birds gliding past or you just stand there for a moment and watch the palm trees moving gently below. It is not a huge balcony but it is big enough that it starts to feel like your own little escape. On some evenings you might see the whole sky change color over the sea. It is the kind of spot where you catch yourself not looking at your phone for once.
Both bedrooms are on different sides of the living room. To be honest I always notice how that really helps with privacy especially if you have guests or a roommate. Each one has its own bathroom and built in closets which means you actually can keep your space tidy without really trying too hard. The bathrooms are not flashy but they feel solid and clean. I think you will also get that sense that the bedrooms do not feel cramped even though you are in an apartment block. There is space for a proper bed and your things. The big windows help a lot too. Sometimes you get a bit of that sea breeze coming in if you leave one open.
The kitchen here is really for people who like to make an actual meal. I mean there is room to move around and enough storage for pots and everything. Some kitchens in apartments just feel too tight or a bit fake like no one ever cooked there. I can see someone actually living and using this kitchen every day without it getting annoying.
What is great about The 8 is you get that resort life but it does not feel remote at all. The pools always look tempting and there is the Fluid Beach Club if you ever feel like a lazy afternoon by the water. People living here use the gym because it is actually well set up and never too crowded from what I have seen. Kids have their own play area which makes life a little easier for families. The private beach is a huge deal. Most mornings I saw a few residents heading out just to walk along the sand barefoot. It is a simple pleasure but it makes Palm Jumeirah living something different.
You would not go hungry here either. There are some casual spots for breakfast or a proper dinner close by plus the shopping mall is just down the road if you ever need anything in a hurry. The roads in and out are usually pretty smooth even at busy times. Sometimes you see people out biking or just going for a late walk when it is cooler.
The apartment is vacant so you would not have to wait long for move in. It is not furnished so you get to make it yours from the first day and honestly that can be a good thing if you have your own style. It is really about how it feels when you are in the space. If you want to stop by and see what I mean let me know.
