Building 13B, City Walk
Some apartments just give you that feeling of space the minute you step inside. This two bedroom place at Building 13B in City Walk definitely has that effect. The way the light spills in across the living room makes you want to throw open the curtains and let the day in. I always find myself slowing down while I'm here just to look out the floor to ceiling windows for a bit. Sometimes you catch the busy city life below or see a couple of birds flying past. It's easy to picture kicking your shoes off and relaxing here after work.
The layout is clever. Honestly you will notice it as soon as you walk past the entry. Nothing feels cramped or awkward and there is this easy flow from the front door right through to the open plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen actually feels like somewhere you would cook something proper not just heat up takeaway. The counters are wide and there is loads of space for chopping and setting down your groceries. You can stand there and chat with your friends who are sitting on the couch or hanging at the dining table. It just feels easy to move around and live in.
Both bedrooms are proper double rooms so there is more than enough space for a large bed side tables and even a small desk if you work from home. I noticed one of the bedrooms has that peaceful kind of back view over the quieter part of City Walk so at night you might just fall asleep looking at the city lights. There is also this smaller extra room that people here use as a maid's room but honestly you could probably set it up as a storage space or even a tiny home office if you don't need the extra help.
Bathrooms are sorted too. Four in total here so you can always get ready for work or dinner without having to wait. They are fitted out nicely nothing flashy but everything works and feels fresh. Tiles are light so it feels clean when the morning sun hits them. And you do get that sense that someone actually thought about making things practical in here. Just across from the main living space is this big set of windows and if you stand there for a bit you can watch people heading to the coffee shops or the shops below. Sometimes you see kids biking along or people heading out with their dogs. That bit always makes the place feel more like a real community than just an apartment building.
Residents here at City Walk get to enjoy a pretty big swimming pool as well as the gym and both are actually kept in great shape. You often see people downstairs heading for a swim after work so it is not one of those places where the pool is just a forgotten photo on the brochure. The gym actually has everything you need too so you do not need to leave the building to get a quick session in. And when you do want to go out for coffee or dinner almost everything is right here under your building or within a quick walk. That is one of the best things about City Walk. You can just stroll downstairs and choose between so many restaurants or grab a coffee before heading up. Dubai Mall is a few minutes drive as well so shopping or catching a movie is never hard.
City Walk is one of those communities where everything feels close. If you travel for work the airport is not far at all. I think it is eleven minutes give or take so even those early flights are not a worry. The Canadian University of Dubai is only a few blocks away too which makes this a solid choice if you're studying or teaching there. Plus just walking around here you will always bump into friends or neighbours heading out and about. It has that nice city neighbourhood feeling which is honestly hard to find in Dubai sometimes.
You never really get the full feeling from reading about it though. The only way to know if it feels right is to come see the place and get a sense for the light the space and the vibe of the building. If you have questions about the City Walk lifestyle or just want to walk through this two bedroom apartment in Building 13B you can reach me any time.
