Some homes just make you pause right at the door. This two bedroom apartment at Boulevard Point in Downtown Dubai had that effect on me the first time I walked in. You get that feeling of space and calm that is sort of rare to find these days, especially when you are just a few steps from all the buzzing city action.

I found myself just stopping by the big living room window for a while. You can see out over Downtown Dubai and feel the energy of the city below, but inside it is pretty peaceful. Dubai Mall connects directly to the building, so if you forget milk or want to grab a coffee you hardly need to get in the car. At night you can catch the Dancing Fountains, or you might just wander over to one of the cafes nearby. Sometimes you hear music or see people headed to a show and you remember just how lively it gets here.

One thing I notice every time is how everything is close but once you are back up in the apartment, it feels private. You do not hear all the city noise or hustle. The layout just makes the most of the space, and it feels like it could actually be a home, not just a place to sleep.
