Sometimes a place just feels like a good pause in your day. That is how I felt when I first walked into this one bedroom apartment at The Address Jumeirah Resort and Spa in Jumeirah Beach Residence. The light kind of pours in and for a second you just want to stop and look out the window. If you know JBR at all, you know there is an energy here, always something going on between the little cafes and the evenings when everyone is outside. But the second you close your door upstairs, you get this calm that really is rare along the beach.

The fitness club is actually used by people who live here not just a box-ticking thing the building has. It is easy to see why because the machines are always fresh and there is something about working out in a space flooded with natural light. The people around here tend to be friendly in the way of neighbors who say a quick hello as you bump into each other in the elevator.

In terms of location, if you love a bit of Dubai excitement, Jumeirah Beach Residence is pretty much the best of it. You are at the heart of things and yet you can step inside and the noise just melts away. You have coffee shops along the front so mornings are sorted, plus there are those late walks along The Walk when the weather is good and everyone is just out enjoying themselves. Sometimes kids are out skating or you see someone walking their dog along the beach. You never really feel alone here but you do get your space.

The apartment is not oversized but that is almost the best part because it means you can just keep it easy. Cleaning it is no big deal, and you are out the door to meet friends or head somewhere most of the time anyway. For me the details make all the difference, like having proper blackout curtains for the days you want to sleep in and storage you do not have to think about twice.

This apartment is perfect for someone who wants a real Dubai home for a year or two or maybe just needs a place that is easy to look after but always feels a bit like a treat.
