I spent a few minutes just turning the water on and off in the kitchen and bathrooms, just because everything worked like it should. The kitchen though, that is one of my personal favorite spots here. It does not just look like a catalogue. You never have to wonder where to get a decent coffee or snack because there is a coffee shop, a couple of restaurants, even a gym for when the weather is just too nice to stay inside. If you ever need something for yourself, I noticed there is both a beauty salon and a barbershop just nearby. People who live in Jumeirah Islands really seem to hold onto the community feeling here. I saw neighbors chatting on their porches and the whole place felt really safe.

And the best thing is you do not get that boxed in city feeling. Whenever you want to get to work or the Dubai Marina or downtown, you just hop in the car and it is not far at all. Plus the green spaces here give you a bit of a break from all that. You really notice the lake, especially if you open the windows first thing in the morning. There is a calm here that is hard to get in most Dubai neighborhoods.
