Al Salam, Mudon
There is just something about some houses that feels right the moment you walk in. That is honestly what happened to me when I visited this four bedroom townhouse in Al Salam, Mudon. It is one of those places where you slow down a bit at the entryway and kind of just look around. I noticed the sunlight coming in from a bunch of different angles. The ceilings are high so the whole place feels wide open and really bright, but not in that cold sort of way. You actually get these gentle rays of sunshine drifting in and landing right where you would want to curl up with a book or just drink your morning coffee.
So let me talk you through it. Downstairs has an open plan living and dining thing going on and it works. It is the side of the home where you just want to have people over and not even worry about who's in the kitchen or who's on the couch. Sometimes that makes all the difference. The kitchen here is not just an afterthought either. It is closed off enough to keep your pots and pans out of sight but extended enough so you have space to spread out. There is even a proper breakfast area where I can see folks sitting every morning half asleep, coffee in hand, maybe kids with toast and just a bit of sun coming in through the doors.
One thing I really liked is how you can step into the garden from just about anywhere on the ground floor. Whether you are in the living room, wandering down the entrance hall or just grabbing something in the kitchen, the garden beckons. And it is not one of those tiny gardens you barely use. There is actually space so you might put up a trampoline or even just get a long table out there. I could see friends out there on the weekend. Kids running around. Evenings that just kind of last a bit longer.
There is a guest room downstairs with its own bathroom, so if family comes by or someone needs a bit more privacy, it is sorted. Upstairs is where you really notice the space though. All four bedrooms are a good size. High ceilings up there too so you never feel cramped. One of them has its own en suite which works well for whoever draws the best room. There is also a family bathroom for everyone else which just makes mornings a little easier.
The community is one of those places that actually feels like a neighbourhood. Al Salam is the kind of spot where people nod hello and kids ride by on their bikes heading to one of the parks or play areas. Sometimes in the evening you hear the chatter from the jogging track. There are cycling paths and more than one little park, so you do not really run out of ideas for the weekend. Nurseries and schools are close, so you are not doing long commutes. You can actually walk over to the gym or the mosque or even the shops if you want to pick up bread last minute. It just feels easy.
Another thing you will notice is how chilled it is despite being so accessible. Umm Suqeim Road is right there, so getting in and out of Mudon is not a big deal. I like that you can drive in, park, and the world slows down just a little when you get home. Sometimes you almost forget your phone when you are walking around in the evening.
The price for something like this makes sense if you have been looking at other options in Mudon. At two hundred twenty thousand a year, for a plot around three thousand three hundred square feet and this layout, it holds up next to just about anything in Al Salam. It is worth seeing for yourself because the feeling is hard to pin down in just words.
