Balqis Residences, Kingdom of Sheba, Palm Jumeirah
Some homes just make you pause. This five bedroom villa in Kingdom of Sheba on Palm Jumeirah really does that. The first time I walked in, I found myself just kind of wandering from the entrance to the huge living room and then out toward the garden, stopping for a second to take in how open everything feels. You get that laid back coastal vibe but with all the space you'd want for a real family life. Honestly it does not feel like one of those show home setups where you are afraid to put a mug down. You can imagine kids coming in after swimming and you are not worried about it. There's an easy rhythm to the whole place.
Let's talk about the space first. Thirteen thousand square feet is no joke. That means you are not just getting bedrooms and a living area. You get a proper basement, so you hardly ever worry where to put things. Down there is your garage, and there is a good sized laundry and extra rooms for staff. Plenty of people turn one of those into a gym or even a small cinema room. I have seen it done here before and it works surprisingly well because it is private and quiet.
The kitchen is actually somewhere you'd want to cook. I know, you hear โnewly fitted' and sometimes it just means fancy counters, but here you have a proper layout. I could picture Sunday mornings with coffee bubbling on the stove and maybe you are chatting while someone is setting the table right next to you. The dining area flows straight into the main living space and what you will really notice is how the light comes in. Morning sun kind of glides across the floor and if you open those big doors you're immediately out in your own private garden. There's a pool here where it almost feels hidden away. It is not just something for show, you can see it is used and enjoyed. Usually when I stop by I see towels on chairs and it just feels lived in, not uptight.
All five bedrooms have their own bathroom and they come with built in wardrobes so you are sorted out for storage from day one. Four of the bedrooms are upstairs, which works great for families who want everyone together but separate enough for a bit of peace. The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor so it is perfect for guests who do not want to deal with stairs or if you want a home office without feeling stuck away somewhere. The lift really helps as well. I know not everyone thinks about it, but when you see those four floors you'll be glad for it, especially on days when you are carrying a bag of groceries in one hand and your phone in the other.
The rooftop is probably my favorite spot. Up here, the air has that salty tang from the sea and you get a full panoramic. I have stood here in the evening and watched the city start to glow. The skyline view includes The Atlantis, Royal Atlantis, plus Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab in the distance, even Bluewaters off to the side. Sometimes the fireworks make it feel almost unreal. There is a jacuzzi tucked on one side of the terrace and it is a spot you'll keep coming back to with friends or even just by yourself with a book. It is quiet up here except for the call of birds, and honestly sometimes you'll just forget what time it is.
Day to day life here is easy. Coffee shop is never far and supermarket runs are simple. The beach is right here, so morning walks on the sand can be part of your routine. I have seen neighbors bringing out their dogs and you'll hear kids laughing in the garden now and then. It is a real community but with all the privacy you want.
Truthfully, you only really know how a place feels when you are in it. Photos and words can only do so much. If any of this sounds like somewhere you might want to put down roots or just need a change of pace, come see it for yourself. At LuxuryProperty.com, we're always here to help and never rush.
