Balqis Residences, Kingdom of Sheba, Palm Jumeirah
Sometimes a home just settles around you in the right way as soon as you walk in. This two bedroom apartment at Balqis Residence, part of the Kingdom of Sheba community on Palm Jumeirah, did that for me. It is on the West Crescent, which puts it in a quieter spot while still being connected to everything that makes the Palm such a special place to live. I remember coming in and just stopping for a moment to take in the light. Here, the sunlight really does move differently across the ceramic floors and you get that wonderful openness from the high ceilings. Honestly, you can feel the cooler air too, which is always a small luxury in Dubai. It just makes the space feel even calmer.
And that full sea view. Sometimes people use that phrase for effect, but here it is the real thing. No buildings in the way, nothing busy. You look out the window and the Gulf is right there, stretching out in front of you. Last time I visited, I watched the sky change at sunset and just stood there for a bit, letting it slow me down. You even hear the soft sounds from the waves, and some mornings you notice birds gliding past. It is easy to forget the phone and focus on just being home.
The living and dining area is completely open, which I think makes a world of difference. There is no squeezing past furniture or feeling like you have to find your spot, everyone seems to just drift together naturally. I stood by the fireplace and had this picture in my mind of people drifting in after dinner, feet up, music low, maybe even a board game out. The kitchen stood out to me too because it does not just look good, it actually feels like somewhere you would want to spend time. The kitchen island is this big, sturdy spot where people gather. The sleek grey finish and Italian cabinetry make it a place you might want to learn something new or just enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning before heading down to the beach. Every appliance is high end, so anything from baking to just toasting bread is easy. It all feels ready to go.
Bedrooms here are more than just places to sleep. The main one feels a bit tucked away, private enough that you can really rest at night. Storage is sorted, so you are not forever tidying or searching for a place to put things. The ensuite bathroom has this soaking tub that just asks for a book and a long evening in. His and hers sinks are there too, plus a proper walk in shower. I walked over the marble tiles and noticed how cool they felt even in the afternoon. The second bedroom is just as bright, comfortable for guests or family, again with its own bathroom that does not feel like an afterthought. You can really settle in and unwind, maybe even leave your phone somewhere else for a while.
The terrace is honestly one of my favorite spots in the whole apartment. Step outside and you get the sea breeze straight away. There is more than enough space for a table and a few chairs, maybe even some plants if that is your thing. I kept thinking about slow weekend breakfasts out here, or just winding down after work as the sun goes down. It never feels overlooked either, which is rare in Palm Jumeirah apartments.
Living in Balqis Residence, you also get access to the Kingdom of Sheba's private beach which means weekend swims or just wandering down with a book whenever you feel like. There is a great outdoor pool and a gym that is better than most residential spots I have seen. You see families using the pool and sometimes people jogging on the sand in the mornings. Parking is a breeze, just pull in and take the lift right up. Even when you need groceries or a coffee, Nakheel Mall is close enough, but you always have your peace when you get home.
This unfurnished two bedroom apartment in Kingdom of Sheba really is about easy living in Palm Jumeirah with all the modern touches and space you want. The only way to know if it feels right is to see it yourself. If you want to come by for a look or just talk about what life here is actually like, let me know.
