Camellia, Al Barari
Some homes just kind of slow you down when you open the door. This five bedroom villa in Camellia at Al Barari gave me that feeling right away. Everything was still and green after the morning sprinklers had run and the smell from the Renaissance Garden mixed in from next door. I ended up on the back terrace just watching the trees move for a few minutes. If you like a spot where you hardly hear anything except the birds, you might want to see this place.
So here's what stands out. You get one of the bigger plots in The Residences, tucked right along a single row so there is a lot more privacy than you might expect. The garden really opens up in a way you just do not find everywhere and you are not boxed in. This is one of those homes where you can see someone spending all weekend outside and not running out of space. You will probably notice right away that the plot is on a bit of a rise compared to the road so you get this sense of your own little world here. Honestly I almost forgot my phone sitting out there because it is easy to just zone out and watch the sunlight move around. It feels calm in a real way.
There are five bedrooms and each one stretches out more than most. Especially the upstairs rooms looking over the garden and trees. You will also see a dedicated maids room and extra spots that can take on whatever you need home office play room art studio you name it. Every room has got tall windows so nothing ever feels dark even on the days when Dubai is a bit cloudy. And the villa is vacant so you do not need to wait around or imagine emptying out someone else's life before you move in.
The overall built up area is just over thirteen thousand square feet but here's the extra bit. You can actually add more if you want. The roof has been set up to handle extra construction and you might be able to add up to four or five thousand square feet if you are thinking about a cinema or gym or maybe a full floor for guests. Even the basement and ground floor have this potential for making the house what you want it to be rather than just hoping it fits already.
The kitchen is right in the heart of the house and I have to say I can actually picture someone making big family meals here. It does not feel like the kind of space you hide away in. There are views into the garden so you can watch kids or just keep an eye on that coffee pot while you work. I have already thought this would be a good place for a dog or for long afternoons where everyone is in and out between the garden and the living room.
Around Camellia and the greater Al Barari community there's this sense that people know each other. You see folks out for morning jogs or kids on scooters near the fountains. The main coffee shop is not far at all and on weekends the markets pop up with fresh bread and little stalls for things you did not know you wanted. Even when it gets a bit busier everyone seems to take their time.
Even the drive in feels different from the city. Flowers, lots of trees, no tower blocks crowding out the sun. I think for a lot of people the appeal is just how quiet it feels without ever being cut off from everything. You've got main roads nearby but once you are home it is your own bubble.
If you are thinking about a big space with flexibility for the future this Camellia villa at Al Barari is the sort of place that reveals itself as you spend time in it. The photos do not show that quiet at the back garden or how it smells in the morning after a little rain.
