Island, Sa Puntassa
Some homes just slow you right down. This two bedroom penthouse at Sa Puntassa Island in Mallorca did that for me. The first time I came up here I actually took my phone out for a photo of the sunlight kind of shimmering across the living room floor. You get these long stretches of glass that let so much in, all that green outside plus the blue from the Mediterranean. I remember waiting a minute just to watch the trees in the garden belowโalmond and olive, a lemon tree somewhere too because you catch a hint of it if you stand outside.
Sa Puntassa Island is one of those places people talk about when they tell you why they love the coast of Mallorca. The air feels softer somehow. There are paths winding through the grounds with water features bubbling quietly and you will see a few neighbors out for a morning walk or with a coffee. Evenings are peaceful but not empty, sometimes you hear laughter drifting from one of the two pool areas or families just relaxing together. And the best thing is, Port d'Andratx is only a quick drive away when you want restaurants or that feeling of a busy seaside marina, but here it is much more private. You see cyclists heading out in the cooler part of the day or the odd fishing boat off on the horizon. Honestly, the atmosphere just settles you.
Now about the penthouse itself. The space really opens up as soon as you come in, right into an open plan living area where the windows almost stretch floor to ceiling. It actually feels open all the way through. The kitchen is closer to what you would actually cook in, not just something to look at. You notice the marble counters, and if you look closer there are these really smooth finishes and smart lights that just work how you want at any time of day. Even standing at the kitchen counter, you can glimpse pockets of ocean blue and that is not something you get everywhere.
Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. It feels comfortable but also a little bit special. The master bedroom has these doors that slide open straight out onto the terrace, so you could step outside first thing in the morning and just sit for a while or maybe read. You get dressed with all that daylight right there and sometimes you forget your phone inside because you are just soaking in the view. The other bedroom is also en suite, honestly it is just as nice to wake up in. There is enough space for extra wardrobes and the storage does not get in your way either.
Now the rooftop terrace is really the part that makes people pause. I went up to see it in the afternoon and ended up staying longer than I planned just looking at the view. It spreads out in every direction so you see the gardens and trees, the ocean if you look out past the complex, and touches of the mountain in the far distance. You could spend a whole day up there, there is a shaded lounge for when the sun is too bright but if you want to sunbathe there is space for that as well. The private pool on the terrace feels almost hidden up here, perfect for cooling off after lunch, or you could invite friends for a barbecue in the dining area. On clear evenings you can see the last light fading across the water and it really feels like your own place in Mallorca.
You will also notice the details that just make it easier. There is plenty of storage tucked away, and the design studio on site is happy to help you pick out little touches that fit your style. Sometimes you see other penthouses trying too hard but this one just feels calm and comfortable. Even the staff around Sa Puntassa Island have a way of making you feel welcome but not fussed over, which is nice if you just want peace.
If you are looking for a luxury property in Mallorca, especially with an ocean view, this penthouse at Sa Puntassa Island might be worth a closer look. The only way to know if it really feels right though is to actually walk through and see it for yourself. If you want to ask anything or just want a relaxed visit, reach out any time.
