Standpoint Tower 1, Standpoint Towers, Downtown Dubai
Some apartments just feel easy the moment you get inside. This two bedroom in Standpoint Tower A, Downtown Dubai, did that for me. Honestly, there's something about the way the light hits the living area in the afternoons here. I ended up standing by the floor to ceiling windows just watching traffic on the boulevard below and a glimpse of the Dubai Opera. You get partial views of the Dubai Fountain too and you can sometimes hear just a bit of the music drifting up when the shows start in the evening. It almost makes you want to put your phone away and just watch from up here.
The layout is pretty straightforward but not boxy. Living and dining spaces feel open enough, and the semi closed kitchen makes sense for someone who actually likes to cook. You do get all the built in appliances already there. It did cross my mind that this is a kitchen you'd really use for a real meal, instead of just for show. Morning light is great in here if you drink your coffee in the kitchen. The bedrooms are both good sizes for what you find in Downtown. The master has this walk in closet where you can actually stand inside and look for things, not just try to hang up everything in one tiny space. The bathroom setups are solid, nothing too flashy, but just comfortable. You can tell it has been upgraded in spots and there is a freshness to it even though the place is unfurnished. Maybe that is nice if you have your own style or your own furniture that just fits you.
Standpoint Towers themselves are pretty convenient if you want to be close to the better parts of Downtown Dubai. The building has what most people want today. So you get a resort style pool outside which is just the right temperature most mornings, plus a smaller wading pool if you have kids over sometimes or just want to dip your feet in after work. There is a Jacuzzi and a sauna too and I actually met a couple of residents who say the gym is better equipped than most buildings nearby. Feels like the community is a mix of young couples and people who work nearby so you are not alone but it never feels crowded. Security is around all day and night and getting parking is pretty easy too. Something that surprised me was how calm the lobby feels even during busy hours.
When you step outside you remember pretty quickly how central you are. You can head out for a walk and you are at Dubai Opera before you know it. If you keep going, Dubai Mall is a short walk for shopping or just grabbing a bite at the food courts. Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard is right there too and sometimes you see people out at the cafes or tourists snapping pictures every few metres. Coffee shops are all over and if you work downtown you are never really more than ten minutes away from the office or your favourite lunch spot. At night you hear a bit of the buzz but it never really gets too loud up here. It's just a good kind of city energy.
Honestly, what I liked most about this place is that it just feels livable. It does not try too hard. You can put your feet up and watch the world go by or fill it up with friends without having to worry if it feels right. It's ready for someone who just wants a Downtown base that is easy to lock and leave or maybe stay a longer while.
The only way to know if a space feels right for you is to see it in person. If you are curious about this Standpoint Towers apartment or just want to walk around the building at a quiet time, just reach out whenever.
