Reehan 8, Reehan, Old Town
There is something about Old Town in Downtown Dubai that makes you slow down your pace a little. Maybe it is the way the buildings lean together with all that sand colored stone or just the quiet feeling you get when you walk the shaded paths between each block. I remember standing outside Reehan and just feeling comfortable. It is not flashy but that is probably the best part. It feels lived in and real. This two bedroom apartment in Reehan goes straight to the heart of what works about Old Town. It is on the calmer side of Downtown but step out and all of Dubai buzzes just around the corner.
When you walk in you drift straight into this bright living and dining space. It is one of those rooms that lets the sunlight fill it up most of the day. You will probably look out at the skyline for a while if you stand by the balcony doors. The view is pretty close to perfect if city energy is your thing. I noticed from the balcony you can sometimes see the light changing on the towers in the evenings. The balcony itself is big enough that you can actually have breakfast out there or just have your coffee and do nothing for a bit.
The kitchen is closed off from the living area which somehow makes it quieter. There is room to cook for real. I could see myself actually trying recipes here instead of just rushing through a meal. There is a utility room too so there is space to keep things tidy and not let daily stuff spill into the living space. One thing that stands out are the floors. They are tiled and always cool to the touch so barefoot mornings feel good especially in summer. You will see deep wood finishes all around too and honestly it brings warmth to the space. The way they have done the cabinets and doors makes it feel classic not cold.
The way the apartment is set up feels balanced. Each bedroom is on its own side of the main room so you get real privacy. Both are en suite which makes life just easier when you have guests or kids. Windows are pretty generous. Mornings here start with actual sunlight instead of the constant hum of air conditioning. You can hear the city a bit but not in a bad way. It is like a soft reminder that you live right in the centre of Dubai.
Being in Reehan means you step out into the Old Town community every day. There are little shops close by and you smell bread baking some mornings if you walk down early enough. The coffee shop is a few minutes from the entrance and it is the kind of spot where you see regulars. Sometimes you see families heading out to the Boulevard or kids biking in the shaded streets. You are two minutes from the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa always makes its way into your view without you even meaning to look for it. The Dubai Opera is also pretty much nearby so catching shows or just people watching there can be something you actually do after work.
Getting around is fairly simple. You are right by all the main roads so heading to Dubai International Financial Centre or Business Bay is quick. But honestly you might not ever want to leave the area much. The combination of traditional style on the outside and all the modern comfort inside kind of makes you want to stay put.
If you are thinking about a place to settle or maybe invest in Dubai property this is one you will probably find yourself coming back to in your mind. The best way to know is just to walk through and see how it feels to you. If you want to have a look or just talk through what living here is really like just let us know.
