Marsa Plaza, Dubai Festival City
Some places just have an easy energy as soon as you walk in. This two bedroom apartment at Marsa Plaza in Dubai Festival City does exactly that. The first time I came up the lift and stepped inside you get that Creek atmosphere straight away. The water is right there and there is this gentle hum with a bit of breeze when the main doors open while people come and go in the lobby. I have noticed there is always someone from the Intercontinental team nearby which makes everything feel a bit more comfortable and looked after. It is not one of those busy apartment blocks where you feel anonymous.
Inside the apartment there is so much natural light you almost have to pause for a second. I think it is the tall windows honestly. They stretch right across the living space and it is tempting just to stand there and watch the boats glide along the Dubai Creek for a bit. I actually did. There is something really calming about it especially late in the afternoon. The balcony works out pretty spacious so if you are into your morning tea or you like having coffee in the evenings with a bit of fresh air you will probably spend plenty of time out here. Even when it gets warm out the breeze off the water makes a real difference. Not something you find everywhere.
The flow in the living area is nice too. Sometimes apartments can feel a bit boxed in but here it is different. The dining space has enough room for a proper table. Easy to picture friends coming over for breakfast or even a long dinner that runs into the night especially when the creek lights start sparkling. The colour palette inside is all soft neutrals with a few richer tones and you do not get any of those shouty finishes. Little touches get your attention like the modern cabinet handles and the way the light fixtures work at different times of day. You can see real thought has gone into it.
Then there is the kitchen. Some places in Dubai tend to put in fancy kitchens that nobody ever cooks in but this is not one of them. You have built in cabinetry everywhere so storage is actually sorted and the marble worktops are both solid and practical. Spills do not matter here. The appliances are all proper quality too so it is not just for show. You could actually see yourself making a real meal without stress. It feels like a kitchen you would use not just look at.
Move into the bedrooms and it is that sense of calm you want at the end of a long day. The master bedroom actually grabs a bit of sunrise in the morning and there is room near the window for a reading chair if that is your thing. Some apartments run short on storage but here you have plenty. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with smart vanities and enough drawers and cupboards so you do not need to use spare boxes or squeeze in extra wardrobes. The proportions work so it is never crammed or too empty either.
The view is probably what gets you the most though. The Creek outside is ever changing. You see joggers in the morning sometimes families heading down for ice cream as the sun goes down. Marsa Plaza is very much a waterfront community. There is a fully equipped gym on site if you feel like working out plus a big outdoor pool and even spaces for yoga or fitness classes. You could easily spend most weekends here without needing to go anywhere else. Still if you want to stroll over to Festival City there is shopping and cinemas and plenty of cafes. The coffee shop is never far.
Honestly it just feels like an apartment where life gets a bit easier. You do not have to worry about endless chores or chasing up maintenance. You will start to know the people in the lifts soon enough and the management teams really know everyone by name. Getting to other parts of Dubai is simple too because the transport links are close by but most of the time you will want to stay and enjoy the water.
If this two bedroom apartment at Marsa Plaza in Dubai Festival City sounds like your kind of place the only way you will know for sure is to step inside.
