Henley Apartments Fulham Reach, Hammersmith, London
Some places just make you slow down right from the doorway. That is what happened to me at this two bedroom apartment in Fulham Reach, right by the river in Hammersmith London. You can tell straight off this is not your average London flat. There is something about the way the light comes in. I spent a little longer than I meant to just standing by those huge glass windows looking at the river and all the city beyond it. You will spot the rowing clubs on the Thames drifting by in the mornings and kids with fishing rods just down the path. It feels peaceful without being cut off which honestly is rare in the city. It is a proper riverfront lifestyle here. London apartments with views like this do not come up every day.
Henley Apartments is a really unique spot inside Fulham Reach and you notice as soon as you arrive. They designed these curving towers so every place has its own views and the balcony here is one of the best things about it. It is not tiny either which I appreciate. You can actually bring out a couple of chairs and a coffee or even get a little table set up out there. You do get those snapshot views of the Thames with all the boats and the skyline off to one side. I could see myself just losing track of time out there especially in the evening when the light goes soft and you get that golden London dusk. Sometimes the air smells fresh and you hear birds from the parkland that wraps around this Hammersmith community.
Step inside and you feel a certain calm right away. The main living area is wide open and it just invites you to breathe out. No narrow corridors or boxed in rooms. The kitchen is European inspired but honestly feels like somewhere you would happily cook for real not just heat up takeaways. They have thought about making everything fit together and all the appliances tuck away neatly so the space feels clean but not showy. Sometimes these modern flats can feel a bit cold but here the soft lighting and the smooth counters kind of make you want to try out a new recipe. Cooking does not feel like a chore here if that makes sense.
Both bedrooms are a good size which is a bit of a miracle with so many city apartments these days. If you have ever tried to fit a proper bed and a couple of chairs in a London apartment you will understand what a relief this is. Both rooms have a ton of natural light pouring in and when you wake up on a weekend you can actually see greenery and water not just another building wall. There are built in wardrobes set up quietly in the corners so you can keep things tidy without thinking about it. The bathrooms have that clean hotel feeling but without feeling too cold or fancy. There are heated panels for those chilly London winters and all the fittings are proper quality from Villeroy and Boch. Hot showers after a long riverside walk feel especially good here.
One thing about living in Fulham Reach is you do not just get an apartment. You get the whole private club lifestyle that comes with it. The Tamesis Club has an indoor swimming pool that is actually long enough for a proper swim not just a splash. The spa has those extra touches that make it really relaxing. There is a gym with all the kit you actually want to use and if you ever wanted to try out virtual golf there is a room for that as well. Movie nights in the private cinema sometimes even make you forget your phone for a while. There is a Residents Lounge too and sometimes you overhear good stories or people just sitting with a coffee reading which feels a bit like an old fashioned club.
Most days here you notice the quieter pace which is actually rare in London. You are close to the parks and walkways so weekend jogs or just a stroll by the river are easy. There are restaurants like the Blue Boat or the River Cafe within a few minutes and the coffee shop really is never far. The Hammersmith Station is just up the road so getting into central London or even Heathrow is direct and quick. Some evenings you will see kids riding bikes or people taking in the sunset. It is a welcoming mix here not stuffy or overwhelming.
Honestly I think this two bedroom apartment in Hammersmith is one of those places where every part comes together if you want real comfort with city living. The neighbours seem relaxed. People nod hello in the mornings. Still the only way to know if it is right is to come and feel the space for yourself. Whenever you want to look around or just ask a question reach out any time.
