Collective Tower 1, Collective, Dubai Hills Estate
Some places just have a certain way of slowing you down the minute you open the door. The very first time I stepped into this two bedroom apartment at Collective in Dubai Hills Estate that is exactly what happened. I actually stopped for a second at the entryway without even meaning to. There is something about the light here that fills every bit of the living room especially in the afternoon. All the windows just catch the sun so even on a regular working day it feels like you have room to breathe and look around. You notice those little things like how the glossy counters reflect the light and the cabinets in the kitchen are that real smooth finish you want to run your hands across. To be honest you can almost see yourself putting your bag down after a long day and just flopping onto the sofa for a bit before dinner.
This is a real two bedroom apartment it is not just in the listings as one. The bedrooms both have enough space you do not have that cramped feeling at all. I checked the closets myself and you will realise you will actually fit your things in there and not be wishing you had more hangers. Photos usually make things look smaller than they are so seeing it in person was a nice surprise. The layout also connects the living area with the kitchen and dining space just right so it never feels like separate boxes. You can cook something while chatting with someone in the living room or have friends over and everyone moves around without bumping into each other. The kitchen actually feels like somewhere you might want to prepare real meals in not just heat leftovers. I found myself thinking of finally trying out that bread recipe that keeps showing up on Instagram.
One of my favourite little things about this place is just standing by the window and looking out across the road to Dubai Hills Mall. You see people going in and out of the shops all day and sometimes in the evening you even get that gentle glow from the city lights bouncing off all the glass. The view changes just a bit every day so it never gets boring. And the best thing is if you are craving a coffee you do not even have to check the traffic or find your keys. You just pop downstairs and you have shops and cafes right there. Dubai Hills Estate always has this relaxed vibe. You notice green patches and wide walkways from the bedroom windows and sometimes you even see kids racing their bikes after dinner. It is one of those communities that is busy enough to not feel empty but never too noisy. The right mix for most people really.
Being an end unit here actually makes a difference. I stood for a while and just listened. There is this hush you only get at the edge of the building. Nobody walking past your door all the time or neighbours looking straight in. If you want to read quietly on a weekend it just works. And when friends come over they usually say something about liking the extra privacy.
This apartment is currently tenanted so if you are thinking more as an investor Collective at Dubai Hills has been showing really steady rental returns. People want to live here for good reasons. The building has a pool neighbors actually use and from what I saw they chat before heading out to work some mornings. The gym is set up for people to actually work out not just take a photo for social media. You are a few minutes from Dubai Hills Mall and you can drive into Downtown or even City Walk without fighting traffic for ages. The location just makes day to day living easier.
This place is completely unfurnished so you do not have to deal with old couches or left behind furniture. Just a blank space ready for your own favourite things and whatever makes a house feel like home to you. With seven hundred forty square feet it is that sweet spot for someone who wants low maintenance but does not want to feel boxed in.
