Burj Lake Hotel - The Address DownTown, Downtown Dubai
You know how some places just sort of slow you down when you walk in, like you almost forget what you came to do because you're just looking around? That happened to me when I first stepped into this two bedroom apartment at The Address Lake Hotel right here in Downtown Dubai. It sits higher up than most so when you walk over to the windows, it feels like Dubai just opens up for you. Honestly, you cannot stop staring at the Burj Khalifa and the fountains. Some evenings I stuck around a bit longer than I probably should have just to see the lights come on and listen to the water outside.
What I noticed first was how much this feels like an actual home, not just a hotel apartment you pass through. Both bedrooms look out to the city, so every lazy morning in bed actually feels like a bit of a show. The wardrobes are built in, but they do not dominate the rooms. You actually have space to move around, maybe set a small chair next to the window if you want. The bathrooms are attached, and I mean actual spa bathrooms, not just a place to rush through a shower. If you are the sort who likes a quiet soak with your own music, or just a hot shower in a hurry, you will be happy here.
The kitchen is fully fitted so you actually get what you need. Big fridge, oven, toaster, kettle, all the bits you reach for without even thinking. I can see someone who really likes cooking being happy here. Or even if all you do is heat up some takeaway from one of the restaurants downstairs, it still feels like your own kitchen. Plus you have proper cutlery and serverware, not just the sort you buy in a rush. Even the towels are proper thick ones, and the sheets are Egyptian cotton so you really feel like you have got your own little haven after a long day. TVs are already set up in the main rooms so when you just want to throw on a show nobody is going to have to fight for the remote.
Maybe the best thing, especially if you like to travel or are busy a lot, is that it is fully serviced. Housekeeping comes around and you can even order room service right to your door. Some mornings when I was here the smell of fresh coffee from the cafe downstairs drifted all the way up. You do not really get that anywhere else. There is a cigar lounge here too, which I thought was a pretty interesting touch, and some evenings you see folks just relaxing there by the window. There is always a bit of life in the lobby but never too crowded. If you ever feel like doing laps or just lounging in the sun, the outdoor pool is up on the podium and it does have one of the prettiest views of the fountains you will see anywhere in Dubai.
The building itself, The Address Lake Hotel, is actually quite iconic. It has had renovations not long ago and you can really feel that everything is up to scratch. The valet team somehow always remembers your car and the concierge is helpful in that casual, non-pushy way. You have a gym if you want to keep your routine, and it is the sort you actually want to use, not just tick a box. The hotel hosts STK and Galliard so you never really have to worry about a place to eat out or meet up with friends. Sometimes you will just stroll over to Dubai Mall because there is a connecting bridge straight from the building. It makes life easy when you want to catch a movie or just grab a coffee with friends after dinner.
As for the neighbourhood, Downtown Dubai right outside your door means the city is basically at your feet. Even just walking around outside in the evenings you see families and kids on bikes and everyone is out enjoying life. The Dubai Fountain always draws a crowd but when you are this high up, it just feels like a private show.
Homes like this do not come up that often. It is worth a look in person because no description really lets you feel the light or the space for yourself. If you have got a question or just want to take a walk through, just say the word. At LuxuryProperty dot com we try to make it all feel easy and relaxed so you know for sure when you find the right spot.
