Ashjar, Al Barari
Some homes kind of make you pause right at the door. This two bedroom apartment in Ashjar at Al Barari has that vibe. I remember stepping inside for the first time and there was this feeling that almost makes you forget about checking your phone or what's next in the day. The whole place just draws you in with calm green views everywhere and actual, honest to goodness fresh air that feels unusual for Dubai.
Let's start with that living area. It's bigger than you might expect and all of it opens up into each other so there's no awkward corners or funny shut-away spaces. The living room just slips into the dining area which then kind of stretches out into the kitchen. I found myself standing by those glass doors at the end and just looking out over the terrace for ages. It's a real terrace too not just a little balcony. I can see someone out there with friends having coffee in the mornings or maybe a quiet evening with your feet up and the world far away. Sometimes you'll notice birds sitting on the railings and even hear the breeze through the trees which is kind of magic in a city like Dubai.
The two bedrooms just keep things comfortable and real. Both are properly sized with no funny shapes. The master is my favourite part because it's not just a spot to sleep. There is a corner that's all windows where I kept looking outside at the skyline and just watching little bits of the city in the distance. There's also this big walk-in closet that just makes mornings easier and your own proper balcony which you'll probably end up using more than you think. The ensuite bathrooms are spacious and honestly they feel more like the ones you get at a resort than an apartment.
Everywhere you look it's this soft palette that just feels easy on the eyes. Nothing loud or showy. The floors are cool and the sunlight just pours in thanks to those big floor to ceiling windows. Even on the hottest days it just feels light and open inside. Sometimes you can even smell jasmine from the gardens downstairs especially after it's rained which is rare but does happen.
Ashjar itself is a low rise cluster so it never gets crowded or noisey. There's always parking available which is more important than most people realise and you rarely ever bump into anyone in the hallways. The building is tucked into Al Barari which honestly is like no other place in Dubai. You get more trees and parks here than anywhere else and it's all looked after in a way that just feels thoughtful. Al Barari is kind of famous for how green it is. Over half of this whole neighbourhood is parks and gardens and you see it everywhere. There are little walking paths winding through the trees and you'll sometimes see families wandering by or people walking dogs which adds to that lived in feel.
The community doesn't leave you wanting for much either. You're a short walk from The Farm which does really good food and has a garden space where people actually sit and have morning coffee. There's also the Heart & Soul Spa if you ever just want to zone out for a while. And if you're more the active type then the Body Language health club is nearby too. Getting into Downtown Dubai or DIFC is pretty fast by car and I always like how the roads here never get too jammed up. Even on school mornings it stays pretty easy.
Owning a two bedroom apartment in Ashjar, Al Barari isn't just about the walls and rooms. It's about waking up and feeling just out of the city but close enough to get anywhere you need. You'll probably find yourself leaving windows open more often or maybe spending more evenings on the terrace than inside.
If any of this sounds like what you're looking for the only way to really know is to come and feel it for yourself. No pressure. Just reach out if you want to walk through or if you have any questions. At LuxuryProperty.com we try to make your next move as comfortable as possible.
