Some homes just make you want to take your shoes off and breathe for a minute. That is honestly the first thing I felt stepping inside this two bedroom apartment in Ashjar at Al Barari. There is something about how the light comes through the windows here that makes mornings actually feel like a fresh start. You can just look out at all that green and forget the city is so close. I think that is one of the things people like most about Al Barari. Even though you get that tropical garden feeling outside, the location is still pretty quick if you need to get out and about in Dubai.

Inside, it is more than three thousand square feet which is pretty rare for apartments in Dubai. I noticed how airy it feels when you wander from the living room to the kitchen. The open layout just works. You do not feel boxed in at all. The kitchen is not some showpiece nobody ever uses either. I leaned against the counter and you could actually picture cooking a real meal here or chatting with friends while you prep something simple. It comes unfurnished so you do get to make it your own which some people really appreciate. You get to decide what feels like home.

You have your own walk in wardrobes. One thing that always strikes me about these is there is space to keep things out and still not feel cluttered which is pretty rare. Both bedrooms are spaced out nicely so it never feels cramped, plus you get windows that bring in that same calming daylight even in the afternoons, and sometimes you just find yourself daydreaming a bit if you sit down by the window. I know families who love that there is enough room for everyone to have their space, but not so much you ever feel far away.

Stepping outside to the private terrace is one of my favorite bits. It is big enough to set up your own little lounge area, maybe put some plants of your own, or even just read a book with birds rustling around in the gardens. You have got direct access to some of the best landscaped gardens in Dubai. I watched a few kids riding their bikes along the small winding roads one afternoon, and honestly, it felt like you could be on holiday. It is never loud or crowded in this part of Al Barari. You walk around and might see neighbors out with their dogs or folks heading over for coffee at The Farm which, by the way, is really close and probably one of the nicest spots for a chilled breakfast.

Living in Ashjar you have the spa and health club within easy reach. Sometimes you might catch yourself heading over for a workout or stopping by the spa just to take the stress off after a long day. If shopping or eating out is more your thing, there are plenty of boutique places and five star restaurants not far away. That is what makes it easy really. Day to day routines just feel simpler because the community is set up for it.

I find a lot of people who visit end up walking a little slower here. Maybe it is the trees or just the fresh air, but life feels a little more peaceful. Even if you are using this as a second home or considering it as your main place in Dubai, it just works for both. The space makes everything flexible. Hosting friends, working from home, or just sitting out in the evening watching the sunset. You get a bit of everything.
