Ashjar, Al Barari
Some homes really do have a certain feel from the first step and this two bedroom duplex at Ashjar in Al Barari absolutely does that for me. The moment you come in, there is this strange little pause and you just sort of stop for a second, maybe because all that natural light makes things look bigger and brighter than you expected. Al Barari is always known for how green and peaceful it feels but Ashjar has its own quiet charm and it is not something you get everywhere.
Walking in, what you will probably notice right away, even more than the design, is how much breathing space there is. Honestly, every room in this duplex feels wider and more open than you would guess from the outside. They really thought about how to make the most out of every corner and you will feel it whether you are sitting in the open living area or walking up the staircase. The bright white palette everywhere just sets a calm mood and the floor to ceiling windows in every room actually bring in more of that greenery than you can see from the road. I stood by one of those windows for a while and you can see the treetops sway and sometimes hear a bird or two if you open the door to the terrace. It just sort of pulls you out of your head for a bit.
The wooden floors in the bedrooms are a small detail but they make those rooms feel warmer and softer. It is one of those things you might not notice until you feel it under your feet. The main living room and kitchen stick with clean white tiles and it makes everything look extra tidy even on an average afternoon when you do not feel like cleaning up. Speaking of the kitchen, it is not just for show — it really looks like the sort of place you might actually cook instead of just microwaving something quick. There is a good breakfast counter and if you are into coffee or just want to chat with someone while you cook it works really well.
The downstairs part has this double height ceiling in the main living and dining area. You get this sense of airiness that you only get in special places. Off to one side, there is a little study. Sometimes people turn it into a cozy guest room or a quiet corner for reading or working but you could honestly just leave it as a den where nobody bothers you. There is a powder room close by so even guests have their own space. Now the big surprise here is the terrace on this level. Most apartments have little balconies but this one has a terrace that actually feels like a real outdoor room. I think it is about one thousand square feet out there. That is enough space for dinner with friends or a lazy afternoon with music and a book. On weekends, you might hear the gentle hum of neighbours but mostly all you see is green — the gardens here are mature so you have shade and privacy.
Upstairs, both bedrooms are properly finished with big windows and built in closets. The master is a treat with its walk in closet and private bath. I love that both bedrooms open up to another wide terrace that runs along one side. It is almost like you get a second living room just out in the open air. You can watch the sunset or sip your morning coffee before the neighbourhood wakes up.
Being at Ashjar in Al Barari means you get to enjoy all the community perks. There are long winding walkways, a gym that feels like a real place to work out, not an afterthought, and of course The Farm is just a stroll away. If you like to eat out, you do not have to drive far. Shops and other chill spots are close so nothing ever feels stressful here. Sometimes you will see families walking dogs in the evening or kids riding bikes after school and it just feels right.
Honestly the only way to know if this place fits you is to walk through yourself. If you have questions or want to take a look, just let me know. At LuxuryProperty dot com, we just want your next move to be as easy and comfortable as possible.
