Anwa, Maritime City
Some places seem to grab you as soon as you walk in and this two bedroom apartment in Anwa by Omniyat at Dubai Maritime City has that kind of energy. I stepped inside on a weekday afternoon and you could actually hear the gentle sound of the water outside if you paused for a second. Light just pours in straight from the sea, especially in the living room which sits on the corner so you never feel boxed in. And you get this terrace where the sunsets honestly look painted on – one of those spots where you'd want to settle down with a coffee or maybe something cold at the end of the day and just watch the boats in the distance. That is how the community feels too. Things move at their own pace here. Sometimes you'll see families heading out for a walk or a jog along the promenade and it just feels easy.
When you walk in through the foyer you find the kitchen right to your side. It is not one of those kitchens that is there just to impress – it actually feels like a spot where you'd cook or maybe just chat while someone else does the work. It is European style by Porcelanosa, and there is everything you need already tucked away – the oven and fridge are built in, even the dishwasher is hidden so the lines are clean. You get the sense someone thought about the little things. Then it all opens into the dining and living space, with these nice high ceilings that make the whole place feel open. If you like dinner parties or just a big dinner at home with some friends, this room works for that. Plus having floor to ceiling windows really makes you think the sea is part of the room itself.
From the foyer, just across you find a guest powder room and then there is a maid's room with its own bathroom for when those extra hands are needed. Walk a little further and you get to both bedrooms, and I have to say both feel properly sized. Sometimes in Dubai you get bedrooms that are more of an afterthought but here you can really imagine living in them. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and I spent a few moments noticing the finishes. The bathrooms use Travertino tiles so there is a bit of warmth and actual texture under your feet. The sanitaryware is from Bagno Design, and it does feel solid – not the rickety plastic kind you get sometimes.
There is this home automation system by Control 4 which honestly saves you a bit of hassle. It lets you sort out your lighting and air con and you do not really have to think about much. Even if you forget your phone across the room, you can manage most things with a small wall panel. Small touches that end up making a difference when you actually live here.
Now the building itself has a few things that stand out. There is an infinity pool outside. It overlooks the water, so most mornings you see a few people doing laps while the sun comes up. There is also a separate pool for kids. Honestly, if you have young ones it is nice you do not have to worry about deeper pools. The landscaping is pretty well looked after, so mornings smell sort of green outside and you will see kids playing in the shaded area. There is a gym with full sea views so at least fitness feels less like a chore here, plus there's a yoga and pilates studio too. Feels like there is a bit of everything.
Dubai Maritime City is a developing spot and you can feel that energy – a bit quieter than Dubai Marina but you still get the feeling of being near the centre. Cafes and convenience stores are always somewhere nearby but you are not really in the middle of all the traffic either. The whole neighbourhood seems to be built for people who enjoy the waterfront without so much fuss. If you ride bikes or like a walk after dinner you'll fit right in. And the promise of Mina Rashid becoming more of a lifestyle spot with yachts and even more places to eat gives you something to look forward to.
You really have to come and see this apartment for yourself. Sometimes you just need to stand in the living room or lean on the terrace and let the place speak for itself. If you have any small or big questions or want to walk through sometime, just reach out. We try to make things as relaxed and straightforward as possible here at LuxuryProperty dot com.
