29 Burj Boulevard, Downtown Dubai
Some apartments seem to have their own way of slowing you down the moment you get inside. This two bedroom home at 29 Burj Boulevard in Downtown Dubai did that to me as soon as I opened the door. Maybe it is the morning sunlight finding its way through those floor to ceiling windows or just the calm from being up above all the buzz. Whatever it is you feel a little more relaxed even before you hang up your keys.
So you are high up right in the heart of Downtown with the Burj Khalifa right out your window. You can honestly just walk over to the balcony and take in that view. Most days I end up just standing there for a few moments watching the Dubai Fountain do its thing or catching some of that warm breeze. It is a wide balcony by the way so you do not feel boxed in even if you have friends over. This side of tower life does not feel crowded at all because of how the whole building sits on the Boulevard. There is never really a dull moment here.
The kitchen caught my eye right away. It is semi open so you can look straight into the living room instead of sweating alone somewhere in the back. You have stone countertops that are actually practical not just for show and there is this one pendant light that gives off this cozy feel in the evenings. Plus there is a window that sort of joins the kitchen with the living space so you can pass over a plate or just chat with whoever is on the couch. I have seen a lot of show kitchens but this one feels real. You can picture yourself actually cooking something up in here and not just grabbing takeaway all the time.
Living here means you wake up to views that most people only see on their holiday snaps. Both bedrooms are en suite and the closets are honestly bigger than what you get in most two beds anywhere else downtown. Even if it is a bit of a rush to get to meetings in the morning there is enough space to tuck everything away so your place stays tidy. The bathrooms feel easy and not overdone. Hot shower after a long day and there is still space to dry off without bumping your elbows. It is these little bits that make daily life here just feel easy.
Once in a while I see families drifting in and out of the lifts and you just know it is a pretty mixed building. Sometimes I catch kids riding little bikes down along the Boulevard in the evenings or someone rushing home with takeout from one of the nearby restaurants. Honestly you are never more than a minute or so from a coffee shop or a spot to grab lunch. The mall is just a short walk if you need to pick up anything or maybe catch a movie. For those working in Business Bay or DIFC you do not really feel that traffic headache like other parts of Dubai. The Metro is close enough that it actually gets used by people here not just mentioned in the brochure.
The building itself feels cared for and looked after. I have sat up on the common terrace more than once and just watched the day fade out over the skyscrapers. Pool is temperature controlled which helps a lot in the Dubai sun and there are quiet spots for the little ones to run around inside and out. Sometimes taxis are lined up out front or you see business folk heading out early in the morning. You feel the city's rhythm but you are not caught up in it unless you want to be.
So honestly if you are after an apartment in Downtown Dubai with Burj Khalifa views and an actual sense of space this two bedroom in 29 Boulevard really has something good about it. But these things are best felt in person not just read about online. If you want to have a look or just chat through how life feels in this part of town let me know.
