Six Senses, Felicite Island
Some places just have a certain magic when you arrive. That is really the feeling I had with this three bedroom villa at Six Senses on Felicite Island in Seychelles. You barely hear a thing besides the wind moving through the trees or the soft sound of the Indian Ocean waves somewhere below. The villa does not just sit here it becomes part of the island and you can sense that even before you walk through the door. The granite stones that edge the place almost seem like they have always belonged and there is greenery absolutely everywhere you look. Sometimes you feel like you have stumbled onto a secret spot only the birds really know about.
I actually took a moment to just stand by one of the windows and everything outside felt huge and alive. The light changes all day and sometimes you just lose yourself in the views. The villa design has that mix of strong stone cladding and nearly whole walls of glass so honestly you never feel closed in. What I really noticed is the careful touch Richard Hywel Evans brought when designing here. The wood underfoot is honest real oak in the main rooms and then later your hand might find a bamboo rail as you go upstairs. There is no flash for the sake of it but the luxury is everywhere in the feel of things and not just in what you see.
Inside you land in this open living and dining area on the ground floor. It is welcoming and relaxed and nobody is going to worry about formalities here. Whether you are having friends over for a big meal or curling up for an early morning coffee it all just feels easy. Afternoons are my favorite when the sun comes slanting through the big glass panes and the only sound is someone maybe laughing quietly on the terrace. I have to mention something a bit unusual too the skylight right over the main living space is actually glass from the pool overhead. So now and then you catch the sun bouncing off the water and the shapes it throws around can be a little hypnotic. It is details like that which stick with you long after.
Upstairs the master suite honestly feels like your own private escape. It opens right out onto the pool deck so you are barely a few steps from a swim. The infinity pool does this thing where the water seems to slip right off the edge into trees and sky. Sometimes in the mornings if you swim here you forget about everything for a while and it is just you above the sea. Every window seems to frame a different part of the view and whether you are looking at blue ocean or the scattered islands away in the distance you get that real sense of Seychelles. Even at the living room terrace you can stand for a while watching the horizon shift or maybe spot birds passing by.
What is great is there is so much space here. With seven thousand eight hundred ninety square feet built up inside the villa nothing ever feels crowded plus the plot itself is even bigger so you always have breathing room. It works for families or as a special holiday place and honestly more than one person has ended up living here full time because it just draws you in. With Six Senses managing everything there is a certain peace knowing help is always near but it is never overbearing. The island stays private and there is this real disconnect from the push and rush of modern life. I have seen kids riding their bikes at dusk and people just taking slow walks along the shore. The coffee from the local beans here really does taste better with the air like this.
Arriving here is part of the experience. You notice the blue and green all around and that simple quiet you only find sometimes. Once you are here you do not have to go anywhere but if you need anything deliveries happen without a fuss. You can wander down to the water whenever it suits or maybe go try the spa or just read a book for hours. Nobody pushes in and the rhythm of life is a little bit different here.
Pictures and words can only go so far. If you are even a little bit curious you should come and stand inside this villa for a few minutes and see how it really feels. If you want to talk it through or walk around just reach out at LuxuryProperty.com. Sometimes the only way you know a place is right is by being there. No rush and no pressure just a conversation and a chance for you to see if this part of Seychelles feels like home.
