I wandered through the entry and stood in the living room looking out over the city for a bit. You really do get the Burj Khalifa almost right there in your day to day view. Feels impressive but also, after a few minutes, almost like it's normal life.

To be exact, you have two thousand thirty nine square feet but it never feels like some empty shell thanks to big floor to ceiling windows. The sunlight pretty much dances across the living area throughout the day and if you sit by the window you can see the Dubai Fountains. I have to say, in the evening, when the lights come on and everything glows, it feels like you have a front row seat to downtown, even if you are just sitting with a coffee.

The kitchen is open plan like most newer apartments in Downtown Dubai but this one actually feels like somewhere you would want to get together and cook instead of just heat up a takeaway. It flows right into the dining spot so you end up chatting with friends or family without anyone getting left out. The finishes are contemporary without being cold so it feels easy to live in, not fussy or show-off. I ran my hand along the counter and you can tell the fittings and materials were picked with care.

Each bedroom feels comfortable and roomy, especially the master suite which has a real sense of privacy. I peeked into the en suite bathroom and honestly, you might want to take your time in there. Good spa vibes with those built in wardrobes and some nice views going out to the skyline. You wake up and see all of Downtown instead of another tower right in your face. The other bedrooms keep the same calm feeling, with soft colors that make it really easy to relax. None of them feel like an afterthought.

Now, one thing to mention, the apartment is unfurnished at the moment. Some people really like making a space their own from scratch and this is the sort of floor plan where you can have lots of fun picking out sofas or art. Living in Opera Grand means you are surrounded by the best of Downtown Dubai. You just walk out the door and the Dubai Opera is right there. On many evenings you will see families, couples, and sometimes groups of friends walking to shows or out for dinner. The Dubai Mall is a short walk. You can even pop out for coffee without much hassle. Even the building amenities here are honestly a step up. I looked at the pool area which gets proper sun but still feels a little bit private with city views. There is a decent gym and a residents' lounge if you want to work quietly with a laptop or just have a chat with a neighbor. The whole place has 24 hour concierge and security so it feels safe around the clock.

People sometimes ask me about getting around in Downtown and here, you are set up for easy movement with excellent road links and the Metro not far away. If you work in DIFC or want to get out to the Marina, it just makes sense.

I could talk about the strong investment side, since these apartments hold value in this part of town, but really, it does not matter unless it feels right for you. Sometimes you just need to walk through, take a look at the way the light hits the rooms or the view out the window and see if it fits your life.
