Building 20, City Walk
Some apartments just catch you off guard the minute you walk in. That is really what happened to me in this three bedroom apartment in Building 20 at City Walk. I took a few steps inside and even before I saw the Burj Khalifa views out on the balcony, I just felt like the whole space was open and kind of calming. You do not always expect that in a spot this close to the city center. After a busy day outside, it is just nice to step somewhere that feels a little quieter.
So, when you first enter this place, you have the maid's room right there to the left and honestly it is a good size. You could use it as storage if you work from home or even as a little yoga room if you do not need it for help. On your right is the first bedroom and right away you start to notice how every bedroom has its own bit of privacy. Each one looks out over the communal garden and if you are the sort who likes waking up with a little green outside that is nice. The fitted closets take away a lot of storage headaches and honestly there is nothing crammed in these rooms. The first and second bedrooms come with their own bathrooms which makes mornings easier if you have family or friends staying. The master bedroom has something extra with the big bathtub and windows that pull in all this light so sometimes you get that morning sunshine feeling before you even go out on the balcony.
I like that the living area does not feel boxed in at all. It just sort of opens up and you get these long stretches of wall and ceiling that just breathe. Whether you have people over or it is just you watching a movie one night, it feels like home. The kitchen does not feel like an afterthought either. It is open plan but actually feels like someplace you would want to cook a real meal. Plenty of space to chop and lay things out and it has everything fitted already. Best part for me might be that balcony. It goes the full width of the apartment so you can step out with a coffee and look out at the business district or just pick out the Burj Khalifa through the skyline. When the light starts changing in the evenings, the view sort of glows a bit. I stood there for nothing but five minutes just watching people and hearing the city but not really feeling rushed by it.
If outdoor space matters to you, this apartment kind of has it figured out. The 25 meter communal swimming pool is great for laps or just cooling off when those Dubai afternoons get heavy. The gym's got all the usual stuff, so you can roll out of bed and work out without driving anywhere. Life in City Walk is easy to settle into as well. There is always some little bakery or coffee shop around the corner and you see plenty of families out in the little plazas, especially in the evenings when it cools off a bit. Sometimes you see kids racing each other on scooters while their parents linger over coffee. To be honest, it is a friendly sort of place. You get that city energy but not the crowdedness that sometimes comes with it.
If you need the apartment furnished, that is actually an option for not much extra which makes moving even easier. From here, you are right up against the Jumeirah district and getting into Downtown Dubai is just a five minute drive depending on the day.
At the end of it, I could sit here and write a hundred details but apartments like this are better felt than explained.
