Sometimes you walk into a place and it just feels a little different from the rest. This studio villa over at Hillside in Jumeirah Golf Estates is exactly like that. By the time I got to the front door I actually found myself slowing down, just wanting to stop for a moment. There is something really clean and modern about it but it never feels cold, you know Sometimes new homes try too hard to impress and end up feeling empty but this one is a bit softer. The glass brings in heaps of sunlight most of the day so I kept catching myself just staring outside at the golf course. Even if you do not play golf you might find that you end up following some of the players from your window because the view of the first and tenth fairways is right there. In the mornings you almost hear the quiet before players arrive and by sunset the grass goes gold. It feels quite peaceful.

Usually villas near golf courses around Dubai go for that classic Mediterranean roof and sand tone look but Hillside has forgotten about all that. Here it is crisp white walls with sharp lines that actually make the whole building pop against the green. I really noticed the feeling of space inside. It is the glass walls for sure, but also something about how they built the layout. The ceilings stretch up double or even triple height in places and you look up and think this is not like the homes you have seen before.

The penthouse bedroom suite is probably my favourite detail. It covers the whole width of the top level and has a skyline view that is honestly pretty rare to find. You can stand there at night with the city lights on the horizon and just sort of lose track of time for a bit. The finishes make a huge difference as well. There is loads of marble and travertine and timber and even a bit of quartz here and there so you get comfort but also a sense that it will all be easy to keep up with. Plus, if you have ever tried to fiddle with dozens of switches to get the lighting right you will notice the smart home setup straight away. Tap a button and it is sorted. Temperature, mood, even the blinds if you want.

Daily life here feels easy. Head down to the golf club and there is everything— a gym where you do not have to wait for the machines, a big swimming pool that is actually good for laps, proper tennis courts, and cafes where sometimes people sit outside with coffee after a round. The clubhouse is just always buzzing with quiet conversations or families coming and going. Sometimes you see kids riding their bikes or heading to lessons too. If golf is your thing there is the tour championship each year which the Earth Course hosts so you are honestly front and center when the big games come. If not, the peace on other days is hard to match anywhere else in Dubai.

You are never too far from the city either. Hit Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Downtown or Dubai Marina pop up in around twenty minutes when the roads are clear. So even though you have all this green around you, the restaurants and big shops are not far. Most days you hardly realise how calm it is until you leave and come back and hear the quiet again.

Hillside is very much for someone who wants that blend of modern architecture, real privacy, and views that are just hard to get anywhere else. There are only a handful of villas here, so it always feels private but also part of a small easy going community.
