Kensington Waters, Mohammed Bin Rashid City
Some places feel kind of effortless the second you walk through the door and this studio apartment at Kensington Waters in Mohammed Bin Rashid City does exactly that. I remember standing inside and letting my bag slide off my shoulder just because it felt lighter in here for some reason. The apartment is not huge but it is pretty clever with the space. You notice it straight away. It is open plan and the light from those big windows really does more than you think. You get this relaxed feeling and for a studio, that is not always a given.
I think the balcony is what surprised me most. There is actually enough room out there that you could sit with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and just watch the world slowly get moving. There are a lot of studios across Dubai but you do not always get any proper outside space. Here you feel that breeze in the evenings. Sometimes, you even catch the pink sky reflecting in the windows across the community. Just nice and calm. Inside, the storage is actually useable. The closets do not have that false depth where you squeeze things in. The little touches matter. And the kitchen is not one of those sham little kitchens you sometimes see. It feels like somewhere you could actually try that new pasta recipe or just throw together breakfast before work without getting in a spin. The finishes are modern without feeling cold. You will also spot the subtle lighting that keeps things easy on the eyes. I stood by the window and watched the sunlight move across the floor for a bit and it made me think this is a place where you might just put your phone down and lose track of time on purpose.
Downstairs is where you start to realise it is more of a full lifestyle than just a building. The amenities they have built into Kensington Waters get a lot of use. You hear pool noises every day when the sun is out and it sort of lifts your mood. The splash water park is not just for show. Kids are actually doing cannonballs and making friends out there. The gym is glass fronted which has a nice open vibe so you do not end up staring at a wall. I saw someone reading a book in the clubhouse which just tells you the energy in here is not all about rushing. Plus, if you drive there is parking set up for electric cars with real charging stations not just a plug socket. The sauna and steam rooms are just steps away when you feel like winding down. Even a cold room which I know some people will love after a summer jog. And honestly, you can feel how fresh and well kept everything is because there are staff around keeping things tidy but not in your face.
The location is one of those things you do not really notice at first but ends up making life run smoother. When you need a grocery shop or want a late coffee, Meydan One Mall is really close. Less travelling and more time for yourself. School runs are pretty easy too if you are headed to North London Collegiate because you are basically already there. Downtown is just a few minutes by car and even the airport somehow takes no time at all which is rare in this city. It is easy to see why singles or even young couples like being here. You have enough of your own space and there is a genuine community feel when you walk outside. In the evenings you might catch kids on their bikes while people walk their dogs or just bump into someone you chatted to by the lift earlier in the day.
It is not the flashiest building in Dubai but if you want a studio apartment that just works for real daily life you will feel that when you step in. There is a warmth to the place and it never feels forced. The only way to figure out if it really fits you is to come see it for yourself. If you are curious or want to spend a bit of time looking around, just let me know. At LuxuryProperty.com we just want to help make sure wherever you move feels right for you. No rush. No pressure.
