Some places just have a certain energy from the minute you walk in. This studio at The Dorchester Collection Dubai really does that. I honestly did not expect a studio to feel this airy but it just opens up in front of you and even though you are in the middle of Business Bay with all the buzz of the city, inside it somehow feels calm.

It is not like the usual big hotel vibe with people fussing everywhere. The moment you get into the main entrance, things slow down. The way the light comes through the windows makes the whole space feel soft and there is this gentle warmth on the oak flooring that feels welcoming on bare feet. It actually made me want to just sit by the window for a bit and watch the canal outside. Some mornings you might even see little boats drifting by or someone jogging along Marasi Drive. There are real views of the Dubai Canal and sometimes you get a quick glimpse of the Burj Khalifa sparkling in the evening. I imagine drinks by the window would feel pretty special here.

The kitchen is Italian branded and honestly does not look like something you would ignore or never use. You could cook a proper meal in here with space to really prepare your food or just make a super quick coffee and head out to work. It is surprisingly full sized for a studio and does not feel cramped at all. Next to it, you get the marble bathroom which is finished off in a way that just feels clean and fresh. Everything was spotless when I visited. You will find that every corner has been thought about and there are these little details that just make life easy which you start to notice after a few minutes. The home automation works without you really thinking about it. You tap a button and things adjust, the lighting softens and it is the kind of place where you can forget your phone for a while and not miss it.

The funny thing about the Dorchester Collection is that it feels fancy but not in a show off type of way. The concierge is there if you want them but you can also come and go as you please and nobody is hovering. There is a residences manager who is actually on site a lot and is easy to chat with if you ever need help arranging something. Plus valet parking outside is a nice touch when it is hot and you just want to get inside quickly. The building only has 39 residences so it always feels private. Sometimes you do not see anyone at all on your way to the rooftop pool.

About that pool. The rooftop is honestly my favourite spot in the whole building. You can float in the infinity pool and look out at the city or just relax on a sunbed with a book and let time slow down for a bit. There is a fully equipped fitness center which is good if you like morning workouts with a view. And below, along the podium level, there are places for casual get togethers and some signature restaurants if you feel like trying something new but staying close to home. Actually you hardly need to leave unless you want to explore Downtown Dubai which is just a quick drive away anyway. The location is kind of perfect like that. You are right in Business Bay so the best coffee shops are close, the Metro is easy to reach and the supermarket is not far either.
