The World Islands
Some homes just have a certain feel as soon as you step inside. This six bedroom villa at Zuha Island, out on the World Islands off the Dubai coastline, really does that for me. You know how it is when you step into a place and almost forget the city is still close by. Here, it's like the world slows down a little and you get a solid breath of sea air before anything else happens. I found myself just pausing for a second at the entrance, trying to wrap my head around the shape of the place. Everything flows and curves, a bit like the water you see all around the island.
This villa actually stretches across five whole floors, which is rare even for luxury Dubai villas. Right from the entry, you get this spacious reception zone. My eyes went straight up to that spiral staircase. You can't really miss it, especially with the glass lift right in the center — a bit dramatic, but in a good way. The downstairs living space honestly just pulls you in. There's this huge living room that is actually double the usual size and right next to it, a dining area that somehow feels fancy and relaxed at the same time. If you have friends over or maybe family gatherings, there's room for everyone and it never seems too formal.
Wander over to the kitchen and it feels like someone actually thought about cooking here, not just heating up takeout. There's a little powder room right nearby too, and the whole area kind of encourages you to spill outside when the weather is nice. The neat thing is you step out and suddenly you're at this three level swimming pool, which I have to admit is impressive even after seeing so many pools around Dubai. The sun deck just invites you to hang out for a while, and if you ever feel like throwing a barbecue, the PPQ area is right there. You'll also notice a little water feature running along the side and it's surprisingly calming, the sort of spot you could listen to music or even birds as you watch the sun sliding down. Past the garden is the soft beach sand, so there's no walking across traffic or crossing the street — the sea is right there. You end up with one of those spots where you can sink into a sun lounger, listen to the waves and just leave your phone somewhere upstairs.
Go up to the first floor and things just keep getting more inviting. There are three bedrooms, each feeling private with its own bathroom and a walk-in closet that you'll probably never fill up. What I liked is that the family room up here is set in the corner with comfy sofas and windows looking straight out to sea. You get your own full kitchen for breakfast or late night snacks and a terrace that faces the open water. There's even a deck for that feeling of being outside without really leaving the shelter of the place.
Up another level and you find another open family lounge, plus two bedrooms just as big as master suites in most homes I see around Dubai. Each bedroom gets its own bathroom and there's enough space for a proper work area or just a quiet corner to read. Now the master suite is something else. You get your own private sitting area that feels like a living room, plus two dressing rooms so no one is fighting for closet space. The ensuite bathroom has separate areas so mornings never get crowded. The terrace from the master runs out and actually juts over the beach for one of the best sea views on Zuha Island, no question.
If you wander to the roof, there's more — a covered lounge, a small kitchenette so you don't need to run downstairs for drinks or snacks, and an open terrace that's just begging for an evening gathering. Out here, the infinity pool makes you feel like you're right on the edge of the island, sea as far as you can see.
Even the basement feels like it fits. You get staff quarters, a service kitchen, storage rooms. Everything happens quietly in the background. The whole home feels designed for island living but never far from Dubai's restaurants, shops and city energy. You might spot boats cruising by or even see kids playing on the shoreline in the mornings.
Honestly, it's hard to get the whole feeling from photos or a page like this. The only way to know if the villa feels right for you and your family is to come walk through it. Take your time, look out over the sea, and just see if it clicks. If you want to know more, or just want to see it for yourself, you can always reach out.
