Fattoria La Corte, Florence
Some places have a pace all their own and honestly Fattoria La Corte really feels like that when you walk up the stone path and catch your first breeze off the vineyards. There is so much sky here you look up more than usual. You can actually smell the olive trees sometimes and in the mornings it just seems quieter somehow even with the birds. I have walked through the estate a few times and every time I pause in different spots just to take it in again. You get this feeling of history layered with real comfort and a kind of relaxed warmth that is hard to find anywhere.
Set right in the Chianti countryside near Florence this is the kind of spot where you forget your phone for an afternoon. You are surrounded by rolling hills that just keep going and the sheer space around you it really hits you once you step past the main gates. This villa dates back to the fifteenth century and the renovations have kept everything genuine. The stone is cool in your hand and the wood beams overhead make you want to linger in each room. High quality materials everywhere but it does not feel precious or scary. You can actually imagine living day to day here not just visiting. The villa itself is spread out and rambling in that way only old Italian homes can be and every window just frames another bit of green. You are definitely getting the countryside view people hope for in Tuscany. Sometimes there are wildflowers right along the driveway and it never gets old.
Inside there are these big family rooms that sort of invite you to sit and talk a while. The kitchen is not tucked away either. It is wide open and honest you would want to cook here not just reheat. You get a real family table right in the middle and the dining room feels like where everyone gathers at the end of the day. I have noticed sunlight still pours in even late in the afternoon and the old brickwork adds this touch of Tuscany you just do not get with new builds. Feels like a real home that just happens to be part of a historic estate in Florence. Upstairs you will find a master bedroom with its own quiet corner for reading or a nap after a walk. The other bedrooms have their little quirks too sometimes a sloping ceiling or an extra window that catches morning light.
One of the things I find most interesting is how the estate is not just a villa. You have these smaller buildings scattered nearby. One has a proper loggia and there are two more that have been made into apartments each with its own kitchen so you have plenty of space if you want privacy or guests come to stay. Plus outside well it is honestly my favorite part. The gardens are mature so you get all these shaded corners and open lawns but nothing feels too perfect or stiff. You notice little water features as you walk by and there are a few terraces where the view just goes on forever. Sometimes you catch families eating lunch on a blanket and it just feels right. The private beach by the lake almost surprised me because it is tucked away and even on hot days it stays pretty cool. You hear crickets and the sound of the water more than anything else.
There is an infinity saltwater pool that really sinks into the landscape and a Jacuzzi where you forget what time it is. There are even whirlpool baths dotted around the estate so if you are a soak kind of person you have options. People here actually use them after a sunny afternoon among the olive trees or trips into Florence for a quick espresso run. And you are never far from a coffee shop or a little bakery. I have seen neighbours picking up fresh bread before heading home which is still one of the best things about this area.
Owning a villa in Fattoria La Corte is not just about having a home in Tuscany. You are owning a piece of the Chianti countryside with all that old world charm and the lifestyle that goes with it. You get space and privacy but you are not isolated. Sometimes kids are biking the winding dirt roads at sunset or families are foraging for wild herbs near the olive groves. It is easy to slow right down here and remember what real living feels like.
The only way to really see if it is a fit is to come by and walk through. If this estate draws you in or you just want to talk about how it might work for you I am easy to reach whenever. At LuxuryProperty.com we try to help you find the right place at your own pace.
