The Sloane, Jumeirah Village Circle
Some homes just make you feel like you could start a new morning routine right away. That is the first thing that struck me when I walked into this one bedroom apartment at The Sloane, set quietly within Jumeirah Village Circle. You get that fresh sense of calm the minute the front door swings open. The light bounces off these gentle white walls and, honestly, I had to fight the urge just to sit down for a bit and enjoy how simple it all feels.
It is not one of those show places where you are afraid to touch anything. The way the quartz countertops run through the kitchen and into the open living space here it does not feel forced or fussy. You picture cooking something decent instead of reaching for takeaway menus. There is a spot for your coffee machine with sunshine coming right in through the wide window. Even the cabinets, these ash grey ones up top, make the place feel current without screaming design. You will notice the flooring is cool underfoot even on a hot Dubai afternoon because it is all done in this very soft grey porcelain tile. It just works.
Bedrooms are always a big one for me. If you walk in and your first thought is I could fall asleep here that is a good sign. This one ticks that box. It is not oversized but it is not squashed either. The bedroom lets in enough daylight for lazy weekend mornings and somehow still feels cozy at night. There is closet space that actually fits more than two shirts which might not sound huge but it makes a difference. Plus the bathroom is honestly nicer than I expected at this price point. The porcelain and ceramic finishes are clean and you will see straight away that everything has been thought through right down to the way the cabinets slide open.
Of course in The Sloane you get more than just your own four walls. The building is new and built by Ellington Group which usually means attention to detail. Downstairs you have got a fitness center that is really well equipped not just an empty room with a treadmill and a few weights. There is this spa area where you can shower after a long workday before heading back upstairs. Outside you will probably see families and kids near the play area and sometimes neighbors just relaxing on the terrace. There is even an outdoor yoga spot which has a nice view of the skyline if you feel like starting your morning with some stretches. The swimming pool does feel a bit like a hotel pool with easy loungers but actually you will probably find it most quiet in the early evenings just before sunset.
Jumeirah Village Circle is one of those places people respect because it is central enough that nothing is really too far but it still manages to feel a bit removed from the noise of the city. You are always close to coffee shops and groceries and every now and then you see people walking their dogs or kids playing after dark. The parking is easy and for anyone who works in the Marina or even Downtown you are not stuck in traffic too long.
This apartment sits at about 732 square feet which I think is pretty ideal for someone starting out in Dubai or maybe looking for a lock up and leave place that will not give you maintenance headaches. With the skyline views you end up getting bursts of city energy without feeling crowded. And at this price point it really does stand out among other new one bedroom apartments in Jumeirah Village Circle.
At the end of the day a home should just feel easy. Sometimes you know it in the first few minutes sometimes it takes a second visit. The only way to really get a feel is to come take a look.
