Pixel, Al Reem Island
Some apartments just put you at ease the minute you walk in. That is honestly what happened to me with this one bedroom place at Pixel on Al Reem Island. You open the door and light pours in from just about every direction. It seems like the views wrap all the way around and suddenly you know you are living in a real corner of Abu Dhabi. Out every window you can catch a glimpse of the sea and sometimes I found myself stopping just to watch the water for a while. It does not feel like the middle of the city here. You find yourself breathing differently.
This apartment is actually one of the bigger one bedroom homes in the building which you start to notice as you wander from room to room. I remember standing in the living area and just feeling like there is space for the things you actually do every day. The living room really opens up into the dining area and then rolls right into the kitchen so it is easy to chat with friends if you have them over or just let some music play while you make your coffee in the morning. The kitchen here feels like a spot you would want to cook in for real not just heat up delivery. Everything is modern and clean with lots of countertops. It is just nice to have a real spot for everything.
The bedroom is quiet and private with this huge window that lets in the early sunrise. And yes there is plenty of closet space so you will not run out of room for all your things. The bathroom is right there too so mornings feel easy. Some people shy away from open plan flats but here it just works. Even the study nook feels like somewhere you could actually get work done if you needed a home office without it being shut away from life at home. You will catch yourself picturing your own books on the shelf or maybe even a small painting project.
Two balconies are a bit of a treat. One of them is more tucked away. The other is right off the main living space so you can have your morning coffee outside or even set it up for dinners in the cooler months. I stood out there and honestly just listened to the sounds drifting up from the plaza. You will hear people laughing or kids playing in the evenings down below and sometimes you also catch the distant call of gulls near the water. Plus the sea view here is something you do not get tired of.
You will notice the Pixel development stands out a bit on Al Reem Island. The buildings are all a little bit different in shape and the architecture always reminds me of those digital pixel patterns. There are seven buildings here and all of them connect down to a central plaza that is actually only for people. No cars to worry about and you often see families walking down to grab something at the shops or just neighbours sitting for coffee. It is a lively corner but never noisy. The community feels safe and easy. The gym and pools are just downstairs. You do not have to cross busy roads or get in the car which honestly makes exercise just a bit easier to work into your day.
There are also little shops and cafes right on-site. I have seen people walking out with fresh bread in the mornings and you can grab a coffee without really planning ahead. There are play areas for kids and even a little spot for healthcare if you need it so most days you really do not feel like you have to leave the block to get what you need. Nearby you have Saadiyat Island if you want museums or are heading to the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the main city is just across the water if you need to commute.
Life here is for someone who likes having a view even on a regular Tuesday. I think people who work from home or just want to feel a little retreat from all the busyness of the city would really enjoy it. Of course every place is different for every person and sometimes photos just can not tell you if you will feel at home. The only way is to come see it in person. If you have questions or want to come see what the place actually feels like in the evening sun just reach out and we will walk through it together. At LuxuryProperty dot com we are always here to help make your next move a little bit easier and more personal.
