La Riviera Apartments, Jumeirah Village Circle
Some homes just feel easy right from the moment you step inside. That is exactly how it was when I walked into this one bedroom apartment up at La Riviera Apartments in Jumeirah Village Circle. There is just something about the sunlight here. It pours in through those big glass doors and you really get that warm feeling across the whole place. I wandered around for a bit and thought to myself this is the kind of apartment where you actually want to spend time at home.
When you walk in the kitchen greets you off to the right. I know a lot of city apartments tend to have these tiny compact kitchens where you end up stacking dishes in the sink because you run out of space. This one is different. It genuinely feels like somewhere you would cook up a proper meal or invite a friend over just to make pasta from scratch and chat at the same time. You will probably end up using it more than you are used to. Off to the left there is the guest bathroom and a laundry area which is nice because it means you do not have things cluttered in the living space. Places that keep laundry stuff tucked away always feel like you can stay organised without really trying.
As you go further inside you come to the living room and the thing is it just works. You never feel squashed in here. There is space for a comfortable dining area and you still have actual room for a sofa and maybe even a chair or two if you like stretching out. I stood by the window and watched the traffic along the main boulevard without even realising how long I was standing there. There is just something about being up high enough to see everything happening down below without hearing all the noise. Time drifts a bit up here.
Now the balcony is a bit of a bonus. You step outside and because you are nearly up on the top floor you get these open views over the Jumeirah Village Circle community. It is the sort of space you will probably end up using for coffee in the morning or just catching a breath of fresh air in the evenings. Sometimes places have balconies that nobody actually uses but this one just pulls you out there. You can see the city moving along but you feel almost separate from it too.
The bedroom does not disappoint either. It is tucked away in a spot that gets the best of the light during the day. There is an en suite bathroom that is simple to keep clean but most of all it just feels right. Not oversized not cramped. For anyone who hates waking up feeling boxed in you are going to like it here. It feels like a room you want to wake up in every single day.
La Riviera Apartments surprise you as a building too. They call it Riviera Retreat which probably sounds a little dramatic but you get a good gym downstairs plus a steam room and even an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. I saw a couple of families out by the kids aquatic play area and the BBQ spot looked like it would be perfect for weekends when you have friends over. There is even a residents lounge inside that gets used as a quiet place to read or work sometimes. It does not feel empty like some communal lounges in other buildings in Dubai.
Then of course Jumeirah Village Circle itself has this very friendly and relaxed feel. Supermarkets are close so no hassle if you need a few groceries and there is even a clinic not far in case you need it. Some of the best schools in Dubai are about a ten minute drive away which is helpful whether you are looking ahead for your family or just want that sense of a good neighbourhood. People here seem to get on pretty well. I noticed in the evenings you see kids on their bikes teenagers coming back from football and neighbours having a chat out on their balcony. Plus the traffic around the main boulevard is never crowded so even getting a taxi is pretty easy.
There is just more of a settled feeling than you find in a lot of new Dubai communities. If you are looking for an apartment for sale in Jumeirah Village Circle this one bedroom at La Riviera offers light good space and those views that just slow you down a little each day. The only real way to see if it fits you is to come take a look for yourself. Get in touch if you want to walk through or even just ask a few things about the area.
