Emirates Gardens 1, Jumeirah Village Circle
Some homes are just easy to settle into, and this one bedroom apartment at Emirates Gardens 1 in Jumeirah Village Circle feels like that kind of place. The very first thing that hit me when I walked in was all the light coming through. Sun spills in over the living area and reaches all the way into that proper open kitchen, so even if you are just making coffee in the morning, you feel the bright, open space all around you. The kitchen actually feels like somewhere you might want to cook a real meal too, not just heat something up before work. There is a nice flow between the kitchen and the living space, so it's easy to imagine friends over or just putting your feet up and listening to some music on a Friday afternoon.
When you stand by the big window you get this calming view across the pool, which always seems to set the mood right. Honestly, I just stood there for a while, watched a few birds fly past and forgot about my phone for a bit. Step further in and you reach the bedroom, which surprised me with the way it feels more like a retreat than just somewhere to sleep. The room is spacious enough for a king bed plus maybe a small chair by the window. You might notice the extra room gives a peaceful, uncluttered feel which is rare for a one bedroom in Dubai. Storage is actually built in and the way the wardrobe doors slide open quietly just feels nice.
Living here you get more than just a decent apartment. Emirates Gardens 1 always seems quieter than you would expect for Jumeirah Village Circle. There is a well maintained vibe from the moment you walk into the building. Every time I visit, people are either heading out for a jog or coming back from the small supermarket around the corner with their groceries. The gym on the ground floor is much better than you usually find and if you are into swimming there is a pool downstairs where I have seen families hanging out and sometimes people just dipping their feet in after work with a good book.
You will want to check out the rooftop if you have a thing for fresh air and evening hangouts. The barbecue area is up there, and even though it is not massive, it just works. You can stand by the grill, catch up with a couple of friends or meet your neighbors. There is even a small golf green on the roof. Sometimes I see people just practicing a few chips before sunset. Parking is sorted too, it is underground and out of the sun, with the option to pick up another space if you happen to need it.
Jumeirah Village Circle always surprises me with how central it ends up feeling. You get these quiet moments with kids biking in the evening and at the same time you are only minutes from Al Khail Road or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. That means you can get downtown or reach Dubai Mall or Jumeirah Beach in no time. Even trips to Dubai Airport are not a hassle. Grocery shops and coffee places are never far. And the Expo site is also pretty close for when something major is happening in town.
I notice a lot of people looking at Emirates Gardens 1 because you just get more space for a one bedroom than usual. This apartment is a solid option whether you are looking for a new home base or thinking as an investment. It is easy to keep rented out and the community always feels welcoming.
