Hattan, The Lakes
Some homes just have a calming way about them and honestly this five bedroom villa in Hattan at The Lakes is definitely one of those places. You walk in and right away the world sort of slows down, the space just has this ease to it. Maybe it is the warmth of the sand colored stone and those classic wooden pergolas outside or maybe it is just how the light finds its way into every corner of the home. The neighborhood feels peaceful too. People out for a walk, maybe with a dog, the sort of spot where you actually nod and say hello to the neighbors.
The Hattan section is known for these Arabic style villas and this one is spread out over three whole floors. I spent some time just meandering through the place and you can feel how it is built for family life. The plot is large so there is space outdoors and inside you get over five thousand square feet laid out in a way that does not feel formal but more easy. The lobby opens right up as you walk in and off to the right side is a big living area flowing into a family room and a dining room. The ceilings are nicely done with little touches and you will notice the sunlight just pours in through the floor to ceiling windows. Sometimes you catch the birds outside or maybe just the way the light shines on the tiles.
One thing I really love is how the dining room and kitchen actually feel like they are the heart of the house. The kitchen comes with deep wood cabinets and all the built in appliances are already sorted. It does not feel like one of those show kitchens you never use, you can imagine proper meals being made here, kids pulling up at the counter, that kind of thing. Both the kitchen and the dining area lead right out to a back terrace where you can wander outside with your coffee or have people over and just let it flow from indoors to outdoors as the evening cools. Even the service areas are discreet but practical so you get a maids room, laundry and all those little spaces that keep daily life running smooth.
Upstairs, you will find four bedrooms and they all come with private baths and storage tucked in properly. The master suite sits in its own corner so you get more privacy, plus there is a dressing room and a balcony set up for some quiet time. On the top floor, there is a fifth room which right now is being used as an office, but honestly, you could turn it back into a bedroom or maybe even a games room or yoga space. The roof terrace up there is impressive. I stood out there for a while and you can actually see the lake, lots of green and the Dubai Marina towers glimmering in the distance. At dusk it is easy to forget your worries with a view like that.
Life in The Lakes is comfortable with tree lined roads and parks to wander, sometimes you see kids on bikes or a neighbor heading to tennis down by the courts near the water. Everything is close by here. Golf at Address Montgomerie or Emirates Golf Club is just up the road, and if you want a day at the beach, JBR and Palm Jumeirah are really not far. You have easy school choices, clinics, and shops too. There is a gentle sense of community here, the kind where you might actually want to stay put after seeing the place. Even running errands feels mellow.
The price for this villa is set at eight million nine hundred thousand AED, which for the space and lifestyle is very fair in this part of Dubai. I have to say, you really need to walk through it to see how it feels for you. The little things matter and they are worth seeing in person.
